Overview of role:
The Materials Management Pharmacy Junior Analyst will support the implementation of the Cúram Electronic Health Record (EHR) system across UPMC Ireland. Reporting to the Materials Management Workstream Lead, this role will provide practical support for general build team activities, data preparation, data entry, validation, testing, documentation, and issue follow-up within the Materials Management Pharmacy workstream. The Junior Analyst will work closely with pharmacy, materials management, and technical team members to help establish accurate pharmacy item and drug catalogue information in the EHR. The role requires a high degree of accuracy, consistency, and focus. It is well suited to a pharmacy technician who understands medication and drug catalogue information and who is interested in applying that knowledge to an EHR implementation environment.
This role is expected to complete assigned work independently,

senior workstream members, but the successful candidate must be organised,
dependable, and comfortable completing detailed, repetitive data activities to
a defined standard.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Support the Materials Management Pharmacy team with general EHR build activities under the direction of senior analysts and the Workstream Lead.
• Enter, update, and maintain pharmacy and materials management data in approved build tools, configuration workbooks, templates, and MEDITECH Expanse environments.
• Support the creation and maintenance of drug stock records, pharmacy items, descriptions, identifiers, units of measure, packaging details, and other assigned data elements.
• Apply approved naming conventions, data standards, and build instructions consistently across all assigned records.
• Complete high-volume data entry accurately and within established work plans and programme deadlines.
• Compare source information against entered data and correct discrepancies before submitting work for review.
• Perform assigned data clean-up, standardisation, de-duplication, and record completion activities.
• Maintain clear status information for assigned build and data tasks, including work completed, items outstanding, questions, and identified issues.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required
• Qualification as a pharmacy technician, or equivalent relevant pharmacy education and experience.
• Practical knowledge of drug catalogues, medication terminology, packaging, and pharmacy item information.
• Demonstrated experience entering, maintaining, reviewing, or validating structured data with a strong level of accuracy.
• High attention to detail and the ability to identify missing, inconsistent, or duplicate information.
• Ability to follow documented instructions, naming conventions, data standards, and quality control processes.
• Ability to organise assigned work, meet deadlines, and report progress independently.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and confidence using spreadsheets, filters, lists, and structured data templates.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary project team.
Preferred
• Experience working in a hospital, community pharmacy, pharmacy stores, purchasing, inventory, or medication supply environment.
• Previous experience maintaining a pharmacy drug file, formulary, item master, stock catalogue, wholesaler catalogue, or related reference data.
• Exposure to MEDITECH Expanse, another EHR, a pharmacy information system, an ERP, or a materials management system.
• Experience supporting data conversion, catalogue standardisation, system implementation, testing, or quality assurance activities
• Familiarity with barcode, product identifier, unit-of-measure, pack-size, supplier, or inventory information.
• Experience investigating data discrepancies and documenting corrections or follow-up actions.
