The role will primarily use EPLAN Electric P8 for electrical design and SAP for the release and management of electrical hardware.

The position also contributes to the development and maintenance of the company's EPLAN engineering environment, including parts data, macros, translations, templates and standardised designs.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Produce electrical schematics, control panel layouts, build specifications and associated technical documentation using EPLAN Electric P8.
  • Produce assembly drawings for HMI, control panel and enclosure assemblies.
  • Produce cable drawings, engraving drawings, labelling reports, bills of materials and other manufacturing documentation.
  • Select and specify appropriate electrical components in accordance with machine requirements, customer specifications and applicable standards.
  • Create, maintain and improve EPLAN parts data, macros, translations, templates and standard engineering content.
  • Maintain accurate electrical parts and BOM information within SAP, including the introduction of new electrical components.
  • Ensure electrical component and BOM information is consistent between EPLAN, SAP and released manufacturing documentation.
  • Modify existing designs and produce electrical documentation and hardware requirements for aftermarket projects.
  • Review and check electrical designs and documentation prior to release for manufacture.
  • Liaise with suppliers and provide technical support to Purchasing for component selection and procurement.
  • Liaise with Sales, Aftermarket, Project Management and other engineering disciplines to ensure project requirements are clearly understood at the design stage.
  • Support Assembly, Inspection, Software Engineering and Service throughout machine build, commissioning and installation.
  • Respond to electrical non-conformances and implement corrective design changes so that the schematics reflect the final/as-built machine configurations
  • Contribute to the standardisation and continuous improvement of electrical designs, engineering processes and EPLAN working practices, supporting a Right First Time philosophy.
