Electrical Drafter

A multinational engineering firm in Queensland Australia is currently seeking for Electrical Drafters as part of its expansion remotely to support their projects internationally:

Work setup: Permanent, remote work

Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 6AM-3PM PH time

Electrical Drafter

The primary responsibility of this role is to develop drawings, designs, and other project documentation for various company's projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to technical

specifications. This role aims to deliver high-quality outputs on time, meeting project and client requirements. In addition, the role requires collaboration across the Projects Team and

other teams as required to ensure the on-time and accurate delivery of projects.

Duties

• Perform design calculations and drafting tasks for various company's projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to technical specifications.
• Prepare detailed layouts, sections, and arrangements based on design requirements and project specifications.
• Assist in preparing cost estimates and design computations to support engineering tasks.
• Prepare reports, maps, drawings, and plans required for the successful execution of projects.
• Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, to create detailed drawings and design documentation.
• Maintain expertise in CAD tools and apply them to deliver appropriate levels of detail for assignments.
• Conduct field surveys and inspections to collect accurate data for design activities, quality control, and change management.
• Produce as-built design documentation based on field data and observations.
• Undertake other duties as directed, commensurate with skills and classification.

• Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure all documentation supports project coordination and delivery.
• Collaborate with the broader delivery team to maintain alignment between design documentation and project goals.
• Communicate with the broader delivery team to ensure accuracy and clarity of plans and drawings.

Team Support and Engagement

• High-level drafting support for teams.
• Participates in team activities, attends staff meetings when scheduled.
• Demonstrates a supportive approach to other staff which contributes to overall team effectiveness and fostering a work environment that is collaborative, friendly and supportive.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Engineering, Cert IV in Drafting, or equivalent qualification (or working towards).
• 3+ years of Civil Design and/or electrical drafting experience.
• Preferably working in the engineering or construction industry
• Experience using CAD systems (or equivalent).
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite.
• Familiarity with civil design codes, regulations, best practices, and performance standards.
