SMARTSOURCING USA is actively pooling Electrical Estimators based in the Philippines with at least 2–3 years of hands-on experience estimating U.S. construction projects.
Estimated placement timeline: 2–5 months. This is our current best estimate and may change based on client demand, project requirements, and candidate fit. Joining the pool does not guarantee placement or a specific start date.
Qualifications:
- At least 2–3 years of electrical estimating experience supporting U.S. construction projects.
- Ability to interpret U.S. electrical plans, specifications, schedules, and construction documents.
- Must be well versed in CSI MasterFormat Division 26 — Electrical, including scope, specifications, and estimating requirements, with a strong understanding of U.S. electrical terminology, installation practices, and applicable National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements.
- Proficiency in estimating or takeoff software such as PlanSwift, or Bluebeam Revu.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet deadlines.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Availability to work during or overlap with the assigned U.S. client’s business hours.
- Reliable internet connection and a suitable remote workspace
Key Responsibilities:
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents to identify project scope.
- Prepare detailed takeoffs for lighting, devices, wiring, conduits, panels, switchgear, grounding, and other electrical systems.
- Develop estimates covering materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Request and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations, checking for missing scope and exclusions.
- Identify drawing discrepancies, missing information, and cost risks; prepare requests for information as needed.
- Prepare estimate summaries, bid proposals, inclusions, exclusions, and supporting documentation.
- Revise estimates for design changes, addenda, and change orders.
- Coordinate with U.S.-based clients and project teams to meet bid deadlines and maintain organized estimating records.
