We utilise industry-leading Building Information Modelling (BIM) and engineering design tools including Revit, MagiCAD, IES, Amtech ProDesign and Autodesk Ecotect to deliver efficient, data-driven engineering solutions.


With a project portfolio exceeding 4,000 completed designs , our expertise spans healthcare, commercial, education, residential, student accommodation, hospitality, retail, industrial, public sector and conservation projects throughout Ireland.


The Opportunity


As a result of continued growth, we are seeking an ambitious and motivated Electrical Project Engineer to join our growing team in Galway.


This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of high-profile projects, including some of Ireland's most technically complex healthcare facilities, commercial developments and public works schemes. Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will take ownership of electrical design packages from concept through to completion while collaborating closely with senior engineers, clients, architects and fellow design professionals.


This position is ideally suited to an engineer seeking to further develop their technical expertise while progressing towards Senior Engineer and Project Leadership roles.


Responsibilities


  • Lead the design and coordination of electrical building services systems across a variety of projects.
  • Develop concept, schematic and detailed electrical engineering designs in accordance with relevant regulations, standards and industry best practice.
  • Carry out electrical calculations including load assessments, cable sizing, protection studies and fault level analysis.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, schedules and engineering documentation.
  • Produce and review engineering drawings and BIM models.
  • Coordinate designs with architects, structural engineers, mechanical engineers, contractors and other project stakeholders.
  • Attend design team, client and site meetings, representing the company professionally.
  • Undertake site inspections and monitor installation quality, testing and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure project deliverables comply with client requirements, statutory regulations and company quality standards.
  • Support and mentor graduate and junior engineers.
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of projects through effective workload management and adherence to project programmes.
  • Maintain and develop proficiency in industry-standard design software and emerging digital engineering technologies.
  • Participate in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and work towards Chartered Engineer status where applicable.


Qualifications


  • Level 8 or Level 9 Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.


Required Skills


Experience, Skills & Qualifications


Essential


  • 3-8 years' experience in electrical building services design within a consulting engineering environment.
  • Strong understanding of Irish Building Regulations and relevant industry standards.
  • Experience delivering projects from concept design through construction and handover stages.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD and electrical design software such as Amtech, Dialux, Relux and MagiCAD.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and technical reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within project deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.


Preferred Skills


Desirable


  • Experience working within a BIM-led project environment.
  • Knowledge of sustainable and energy-efficient building design principles.
  • Progress towards or attainment of Chartered Engineer status.
