As the marketing organization continues to scale, they are seeking an Email Marketing Specialist to support customer engagement, product communications, retention, expansion, and broader marketing initiatives through high-quality email campaigns. Role Overview The Email Marketing Specialist will own the execution and ongoing optimization of email campaigns across the customer and prospect lifecycle. This includes managing campaigns from planning and production through segmentation, testing, launch, performance analysis, and optimization. The role will support product announcements, customer engagement campaigns, event promotions, lifecycle communications, retention initiatives, and upsell opportunities. The ideal candidate combines strong email marketing fundamentals with exceptional attention to detail, copy editing skills, and the ability to use campaign performance data to continuously improve results. This role is focused specifically on email campaign strategy and execution. Marketing automation infrastructure, CRM architecture, and attribution systems will be supported by other members of the Marketing Operations team. Location Fully Remote | Email Marketing Specialist Key Responsibilities Email Campaign Execution Manage the end-to-end production and execution of email marketing campaigns. Build and execute lifecycle communications for both prospects and existing customers. Manage campaigns from planning and production through testing, launch, and optimization. Ensure email campaigns are accurately configured and executed according to marketing priorities. Maintain consistently high standards for campaign quality and execution. Product, Customer & Lifecycle Communications Support product launches and product announcement campaigns to communicate new products, features, and updates. Develop and execute customer engagement and retention campaigns. Create communications designed to re-engage existing customers. Support upsell and expansion opportunities through targeted email campaigns. Support event promotions, webinars, and other marketing communications as needed. Tailor communications based on where prospects and customers are within the lifecycle. Audience Segmentation Segment and tailor email communications based on relevant audience characteristics. Develop campaign audiences based on factors such as enterprise versus SMB, prospect versus customer, lifecycle stage, and engagement level. Ensure messaging and campaign content are relevant to each intended audience. Use audience and campaign performance insights to refine future segmentation approaches. Testing & Optimization Conduct A/B testing across subject lines, messaging, content, calls to action, and other campaign variables. Monitor testing results and identify actionable learnings. Apply performance insights to continuously improve future campaigns. Recommend campaign improvements based on audience behavior and performance. Maintain an iterative approach to email marketing optimization. Performance Analysis & Reporting Monitor email campaign performance and identify what is and is not performing effectively. Interpret campaign data to identify trends and optimization opportunities. Use performance results to make practical recommendations for future communications. Evaluate how email contributes to customer engagement, retention, expansion, and broader marketing objectives. Communicate relevant campaign insights to marketing stakeholders. Content Quality & Proofreading Maintain extremely high standards for copy editing, proofreading, grammar, and written communication. Review email content carefully before launch to ensure accuracy and quality. Ensure messaging, calls to action, and other campaign elements are clear and consistent. Identify and correct content issues before campaigns are launched. Maintain strong attention to detail throughout the email production process. Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate with Marketing Operations, Customer Marketing, Product Marketing, Events, Demand Generation, and Creative teams. Work alongside the CRM and automation specialist responsible for underlying marketing automation infrastructure. Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to bring email campaigns from planning through execution. Support email initiatives across different marketing programs and business priorities. AI-Enabled Marketing Workflows Support the organization's transition toward more AI-enabled marketing workflows. Use AI tools where appropriate to improve email marketing productivity and efficiency. Identify opportunities to incorporate AI into campaign workflows while maintaining strong quality standards. Adapt to new AI-enabled processes and tools as the marketing organization evolves. Qualifications Experience 1–2+ years of email marketing experience, ideally within a B2B organization. Hands-on experience executing B2B lifecycle email campaigns. Experience managing email campaigns from planning through launch, testing, and optimization. Experience working with audience segmentation and lifecycle marketing. Experience conducting A/B tests and applying results to future campaigns. Experience interpreting email performance data and making optimization recommendations. Experience with HubSpot, Salesforce, and marketing platforms is preferred. Previous experience within B2B SaaS is preferred. Experience supporting customer marketing, product announcements, events, webinars, retention, or expansion campaigns is preferred. Basic HTML/CSS knowledge is a plus. Skills Strong understanding of email marketing and lifecycle communication fundamentals. Strong audience segmentation skills across customer type, lifecycle stage, and engagement level. Ability to independently manage the email campaign process from planning through execution and optimization. Strong understanding of A/B testing methodologies and campaign experimentation. Ability to interpret email performance data and translate results into practical recommendations. Exceptional copy editing, proofreading, grammar, and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high campaign quality standards. Ability to collaborate effectively across Marketing Operations, Customer Marketing, Product Marketing, Events, Demand Generation, and Creative teams. Comfortable working quickly and adapting priorities in a fast-moving marketing environment. Comfortable adopting AI-enabled tools as part of email marketing workflows. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and stakeholders.
