As an Embedded DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in enabling efficient and reliable development, testing, release, and maintenance of X-Rite's embedded software platforms. You will work closely with software, firmware, QA, and systems engineering teams to design, develop, and maintain the infrastructure, tools, and automation that accelerate product development while ensuring high levels of quality, security, and reliability.

This role combines software engineering, infrastructure automation, CI/CD development, and release management for embedded Linux-based products. You will contribute to building modern engineering practices and automation frameworks that support X-Rite's global product portfolio, ranging from handheld spectrophotometers to advanced imaging and measurement systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting embedded software development, testing, and release activities.
• Build and maintain automated build, packaging, deployment, and release processes for embedded Linux-based products.
• Collaborate with software, firmware, QA, and systems engineering teams to streamline development workflows and improve engineering productivity.
• Develop scripts, tools, and automation solutions to reduce manual effort and improve software delivery efficiency.
• Support product cybersecurity initiatives by integrating security scanning, vulnerability analysis, and compliance checks into the development lifecycle.
• Monitor CI/CD pipeline health, build quality, infrastructure performance, and deployment reliability.
• Assist engineering teams in troubleshooting build, deployment, infrastructure, and automation-related issues.
• Participate actively in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and continuous improvement activities.
• Drive adoption of DevOps best practices, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, AI-assisted development tools, and engineering excellence across the organization.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor or Master of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

3–6 years of professional experience in DevOps, Software Engineering, or related technical roles.

Experience and training in most of the following areas are required:

• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using platforms such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience developing automation tools and scripts using Python and Bash.
• Experience working with Linux-based development environments.
• Understanding of software build systems, release management practices, and software lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of software quality practices, automated testing integration, and deployment automation.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Embedded Linux and Yocto-based systems.
• Familiarity with C/C++, Python, and Bash development environments.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and automated environment provisioning.
• Experience with cybersecurity tooling, static code analysis, and security scanning solutions.
• Exposure to AI-assisted software engineering and automation tools.
