Embedded System Engineer

Role Description

The Embedded System Engineer role at Mainlogix Technologies is a full-time, hybrid position based in Lagos, with flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements. The engineer will design, develop, and test embedded software and hardware solutions for client projects, focusing on reliable and efficient system performance. Day-to-day tasks include writing and debugging firmware, integrating electronics and sensors, collaborating with cross-functional teams on IoT solutions, and documenting system architecture and design decisions. The role also involves participating in code reviews, optimizing system resources, supporting deployment and maintenance, and contributing to continuous improvement of engineering processes.

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Embedded Software and Software Development for firmware and low-level applications.
• Candidates should possess solid knowledge of Electrical Engineering and Electronics for designing and integrating hardware components.
• Candidates should possess experience with Internet of Things (IoT) systems, including device connectivity, protocols, and cloud integration.
• Candidates should possess proficiency in programming languages commonly used for embedded systems (e.g., C/C++, Python) and relevant development tools.
• Candidates should possess good problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to troubleshoot hardware-software interactions.
• Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
• A bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS), PCB design tools, and version control systems (e.g., Git) is an advantage.
