Jackson Lewis is seeking an Employment Law Associate for its Denver, Colorado office to handle a mix of litigation and advice and counseling work, collaborating with the firm’s Workplace Analytics and Government Contracting practice groups and their data analysts and statisticians. Depending on experience and client needs, responsibilities may include some or all of the following:
Duties and Responsibilities:
Employment Litigation
- Defend employers in state and federal court, arbitration, and mediation involving a broad range of employment-related claims, including class and collective actions and discrimination, harassment, retaliation, contract, employment tort, and non-compete cases.
- Represent employers before federal and state administrative agencies in charges of discrimination, investigations, and enforcement actions, including government contractor compliance reviews.
Employment Advice and Counseling
- Advise employers on compliance with Colorado and federal labor and employment laws and regulations.
- Counsel employers on pay equity and pay transparency obligations, including privileged pay equity analyses.
- Advise government contractors on equal employment opportunity and affirmative action compliance obligations.
- Support the validation of pre-employment tests and other selection procedures, including adverse impact analyses.
Skills and Educational Requirements:
- JD from an ABA accredited law school and excellent academic credentials.
- 3+ years of employment law experience in litigation and/or employment law-related advice and counseling; experience in any of the areas above a plus.
- Active Colorado bar admission required.
- Understanding of current court and employment-related agency (state and federal) procedures.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
- Comfort with large data reports a plus.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
- Commitment to professionalism, collegiality, and teamwork, along with ability to work independently on various projects and effectively oversee other professionals.
For Colorado, the expected salary range for this position is between $182,500 and $240,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
This position is also eligible for annual bonuses.
