Enabling Lead
Location: Lincoln/Hybrid
What you’ll be doing:
As an Enabling Lead, you will take responsibility for leading the enabling discipline within your allocated programme areas. Working alongside other Enabling Leads, you will identify, assess, and manage environmental and consenting risks across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and non‑infrastructure projects. Together, you’ll ensure consistency of approach, effective risk management, and smooth delivery across the Alliance.
Working from early feasibility through to construction completion, you’ll ensure that all necessary consents, permits and licences are in place – enabling smooth project progression and embedding a “Right First Time” approach. By integrating environmental and planning considerations from the outset, you’ll help reduce risk, minimise delays, and safeguard both project delivery and Anglian Water’s reputation for responsible development.
You’ll work closely with design, engineering, and construction teams as well as regulators, land agents, local authorities and environmental specialists. This is a highly collaborative role that combines technical expertise, risk management and stakeholder engagement to deliver lasting positive outcomes.
What you’ll bring:
We’re looking for someone with both the technical know-how and the ability to influence and build strong relationships. You’ll have:
- Experience in using Geographical Information Systems (GIS) packages (ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo) for geoprocessing and visualisation of data
- The ideal candidates will have a demonstrable interest in environmental issues (either through related coursework, previous employment, or personal endeavours)
- Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports
- Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, and work independently with minimal supervision
- Take pride in the work I do, promoting a positive view of Anglian Water and the IMRDS Alliance.
- Celebrate when we get things right and share best practice with others.
- Seek the right balance of information to inform decisions.
- Follow our policies and procedures and constructively challenge them when they don’t help us get the right results.
Ready to Shape the Future of Water?
