Description
Engineering Designer Position Overview We are seeking Engineering Designers to support the development, integration, and validation of automotive systems and components. In this role, you will leverage Siemens NX to create detailed 3D models, perform design integration studies, evaluate packaging and clearance requirements, and contribute to the successful execution of vehicle development programs. This position offers opportunities to work across a variety of vehicle systems and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver innovative, manufacturable, and high-quality product solutions. Areas of Focus Openings are available across multiple engineering disciplines, including: Electrical Systems Electrified Propulsion & System Architecture Interior Components Closures & Liftgates Underbody, Chassis & Propulsion Systems Exterior Trim, Fascias & Grilles Body Structures Primary Responsibilities Develop and maintain detailed 3D CAD models and layouts using Siemens NX. Support component and subsystem design activities from concept through release. Perform packaging, fit, function, and clearance evaluations within vehicle environments. Collaborate with engineering teams to define design requirements and technical solutions. Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to improve product quality and efficiency. Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and virtual validation activities. Generate and maintain accurate model attributes, material data, and engineering documentation. Analyze design issues and implement corrective actions to ensure successful integration. Incorporate subsystem designs into broader vehicle or product architectures while maintaining performance and packaging targets. Create complex parametric models, assemblies, and virtual mockups to support design development. Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and validation teams to meet program objectives and timing requirements. Communicate project progress, technical challenges, and key milestones to project stakeholders. Ensure assigned designs meet established quality standards and release schedules. Share best practices, technical knowledge, and lessons learned with peers and project teams. Pursue continuous improvement through ongoing training and professional development opportunities. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Product Design Engineering Technology or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience. Experience/training/internship in automotive, mechanical, or product design engineering. Strong proficiency with Siemens NX and parametric CAD modeling. Solid understanding of GD&T principles and mechanical design fundamentals. Experience with component packaging, integration, and manufacturability considerations. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting one or more of the component areas listed above. Knowledge of CAE-supported design and validation processes. Experience participating in virtual integration reviews and cross-functional development teams. Background working for automotive manufacturers, suppliers, or engineering service organizations.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
