ServiceChannel Managers are the drivers of technology and team excellence, turning ideas into impactful solutions. As Engineering Manager, you will lead the design and delivery of our SaaS platform, ensuring proven software architecture and engineering best practices. Prospective candidates must have extensive experience building software as a service (SaaS) with .NET and React, and experience leading teams in these technologies. They must understand information systems and secure development lifecycles, and be able to define and enforce engineering standards across projects.
Collaborating with global teams, you will provide technical direction, mentor engineers, and work on international projects, enhancing your skills and expertise. Join us to be part of a diverse and inclusive work environment, where innovation, leadership, and collaboration drive success.
Key Responsibilities
- Own commitments and delivery outcomes for the team(s), ensuring predictable and high-quality execution.
- Define and drive the technical strategy and roadmap for the .NET back end and React front end, including architecture, modernization and technical-debt management.
- Translate product and business goals into clear technical deliverables and execution plans.
- Mentor and coach team members, supporting their professional growth and fostering a collaborative, productive environment.
- Monitor delivery and service-health metrics (velocity, quality, reliability, performance, cost) and take corrective action when needed.
- Act as the primary technical and delivery point of contact for product, business and leadership stakeholders; partner closely with Product Management to shape roadmaps, scope initiatives and manage expectations.
- Lead collaboration across software engineers, product owners, project managers, DevOps, QA, security and mobile teams; own API contracts, versioning and backward compatibility for consumers such as web and mobile clients.
- Own release management and CI/CD practices, including safe deployments, feature flags and rollback strategies.
- Drive observability and operational excellence: logging, monitoring, alerting, SLOs, incident management, postmortems and root-cause analysis.
- Continuously improve engineering processes to increase efficiency, predictability and quality; drive adoption of code review, testing and accessibility/performance standards.
- Ensure compliance with security, privacy and regulatory requirements throughout the development lifecycle.
- Conduct regular 1-on-1s, own performance management (goal setting, mid-cycle check-ins, annual reviews), and plan team capacity to meet roadmap commitments while avoiding burnout.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 9 years of hands-on experience in full stack development using .NET and React.js.
- 3+ years of experience leading or managing engineering teams (people management, technical leadership and delivery ownership).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional and global teams.
Required Technical Skills
- Proven experience developing robust APIs using Microsoft .NET C#, ASP.NET MVC and .NET Core / modern .NET.
- Strong expertise in Entity Framework and LINQ for efficient data access and manipulation.
- Proficiency in front-end development with React.js and TypeScript, with a solid understanding of modern JavaScript frameworks and state management.
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server, including performance tuning and query optimization.
- Solid understanding of the SDLC and familiarity with JIRA, GitHub and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong grasp of modern software design principles, coding best practices and scalable architecture patterns (REST API design, microservices, event-driven systems).
- Proficient in unit testing and a sound understanding of test automation frameworks and principles.
- Knowledge of application security best practices (authentication/authorization, OAuth/SSO, OWASP).
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Practical experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and/or AWS, including deployment and monitoring.
- Experience with Azure services such as Functions, Service Bus, Storage Accounts and App Services.
- Experience with MongoDB.
- Familiarity with the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash) for logging and analytics.
- Exposure to microservices architecture, including design, development and deployment; containers and Kubernetes.
- Experience with continuous integration tools such as TeamCity, Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
- Experience with feature-flag platforms such as LaunchDarkly, and with APM/observability tools.
- Experience supporting mobile clients (iOS, Android, React Native) through APIs and SDKs.
