At IXOPAY, our people are our greatest strength. Our collaborative culture is built on shared values that guide how we work, innovate, and support our customers.
About the Role
We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead and develop two engineering teams responsible for the tokenization, network token, and compliance services that support IXOPAY's global payment infrastructure.
In this leadership role, you'll be accountable for team performance, engineering delivery, operational reliability, and continuous improvement. You'll create an environment where engineers and technical leads can do their best work, empowering teams to make sound technical decisions while ensuring priorities, expectations, and outcomes remain aligned with business and customer needs.
Working closely with Product, Architecture, Security, Support, and Engineering leadership, you'll help translate business priorities into actionable engineering commitments, identify and address risks, and strengthen the processes that support secure, reliable software delivery.
This is an opportunity to combine strong people leadership with technical understanding and operational ownership, helping shape the teams and services that protect sensitive payment data and enable secure transactions for enterprise merchants around the world.
What You'll Do
Lead & Develop High-Performing Engineering Teams
Lead, coach, and develop engineers and technical leads across two teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Conduct regular one-on-ones, provide meaningful feedback, and support individual career development and professional growth.
Manage hiring, onboarding, performance management, and team capacity to ensure the organization has the skills and resources needed to succeed.
Empower technical leads and engineers to take ownership of technical decisions while providing guidance, removing obstacles, and ensuring alignment with broader engineering priorities.
Build an environment that encourages open communication, knowledge sharing, technical excellence, and sustainable team performance.
Drive Engineering Delivery & Execution
Own delivery commitments across both teams, ensuring priorities, timelines, and expectations are clearly understood and actively managed.
Partner with Product and Engineering stakeholders to align technical execution with customer needs, business priorities, and product roadmaps.
Monitor delivery progress, identify risks and dependencies early, and proactively address blockers that could impact outcomes.
Manage escalations effectively, resolving issues at the appropriate level and engaging senior leadership when additional support or decisions are needed.
Provide clear, regular updates to Engineering leadership on team performance, delivery status, risks, and key decisions.
Promote effective planning, prioritization, and Agile development practices that support predictable and sustainable delivery.
Strengthen Technical Quality, Security & Reliability
Maintain a strong working understanding of the platform's architecture, technologies, and operational requirements to evaluate tradeoffs, challenge assumptions, and identify technical risks.
Partner with technical leads and architects to support sound engineering decisions, maintainability, scalability, and long-term platform health.
Work closely with Security and Compliance teams to ensure engineering practices and delivery processes support PCI DSS and other applicable security requirements.
Coordinate incident response, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning to improve service reliability and prevent recurring issues.
Participate in shared operational support responsibilities across Development, Platform Engineering, and Support teams.
Champion secure development practices, operational readiness, and continuous improvements to production systems.
Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration & Innovation
Build strong partnerships across Product, Architecture, Support, Security, Operations, and other Engineering teams to improve communication and execution.
Ensure engineering teams understand the customer impact and business value of the solutions they build and maintain.
Identify recurring challenges, operational inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve engineering processes across teams.
Lead initiatives that strengthen automation, development workflows, engineering productivity, and operational effectiveness.
Encourage the responsible adoption of AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices to improve quality and efficiency.
Contribute to broader engineering leadership discussions, organizational planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You'll Bring

Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams through complex software development initiatives, balancing delivery priorities, technical quality, and operational reliability.
Strong people leadership skills, including coaching, hiring, performance management, and developing technical talent.

Experience supporting business-critical applications or services that require high availability, security, and operational stability.
Understanding of modern software development practices, including Agile delivery, CI/CD, incident management, and production support.
Ability to manage competing priorities, resolve escalations, and drive accountability across multiple teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment and the ability to make decisions in complex technical environments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, cross-functional stakeholders, and senior leadership.
Experience using engineering collaboration and delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Slack.
A customer-focused mindset and a proactive approach to improving engineering effectiveness, team performance, and software quality.
