Engineering Manager, Oracle Fusion Financial Systems

As we continue to scale our global platform, the Engineering Manager, Financial Systems will play a critical role in owning and evolving Oracle Fusion Financials and AI-first integration capabilities across high-volume eCommerce and Retail environments.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for an AI-first Engineering Manager to own and evolve our Financial Systems capability in a high-volume eCommerce and Retail environment. This role centers on Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP (Financials) and its PaaS extension layer — Oracle Integration Cloud, VBCS, and related services — plus the inbound and outbound integrations that connect Fusion to commerce, order, payment, tax, banking, and reporting platforms. You will lead a team of SDEs, Technical and Business Systems Analysts, drive AI-led productivity and transformation, and serve as the strategic bridge between Finance, Accounting, and Engineering. The Engineering Manager, Financial Systems delivers business and fan impact through BOLD leadership and execution excellence, leveraging data, automation, and AI-enabled insights.

Team & Leadership Impact (Build Championship Teams)

Cross-Functional Leadership:

• Partner with Finance, Accounting, Tax, Treasury, and eCommerce/Retail Engineering teams to translate business needs into scalable, AI-augmented system solutions, acting as a trusted advisor who proactively surfaces AI opportunities rather than simply responding to requests.
• Lead investment conversations with senior leadership, including trade-off decisions between new capability delivery, platform stability, and AI tooling, and manage Oracle, system integrators, and software vendors to ensure quality and alignment to the AI-first roadmap.
• Evaluate new financial technology platforms and AI tools, making build-vs-buy recommendations grounded in total cost of ownership and strategic fit.

People Leadership:

• Lead and develop a team of SDEs, Technical and Business Systems Analysts across technical and functional disciplines, building career paths and growth plans that reflect both domain expertise and AI-first working practices.
• Set a high bar for AI tool adoption — ChatGPT/Claude, GitHub Copilot, Oracle AI — coaching team members on weaving these into daily workflows and tracking velocity, AI adoption rates, and time-to-resolution to drive coaching and improvement.
• Build a data-driven team culture of ownership and continuous learning, with a demonstrated track record of growing team members into expanded scope and responsibility.

Fan & Customer Impact (Obsessed with Fans)

• Own the technology roadmap for Oracle Fusion Financials (GL, AR, AP, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, Revenue/Subledger Accounting), aligned to business priorities and peak-season readiness, ensuring financial systems remain stable and reliable during the high-volume periods that matter most to customers and partners.
• Oversee UAT, release management, and production support with minimal disruption during peak season, month-end, and year-end close, targeting zero critical incidents attributable to systems failure.
• Own reconciliation between commerce and ERP — order-to-cash, payments to settlements to bank, returns and refunds — and the data quality and controls that underpin accurate, trustworthy financial outcomes for the business.
• Ensure integrations between Oracle Fusion and surrounding systems are reliable, idempotent, observable, and reconcilable, with clear error handling, retry, and monitoring that scales for peak-volume events.

Innovation & Problem Solving (Limitless Entrepreneurial Spirit)

• Drive AI-augmented delivery by identifying manual and repetitive workflows across the team and leading their replacement with AI-assisted approaches — AI-generated specs, Copilot-assisted code, AI-powered test generation, and anomaly detection.
• Apply AI to finance operations, including AI-assisted reconciliation, exception handling, integration monitoring, and close-process automation, with at least two AI-augmented workflows in production within 12 months.
• Set AI guardrails and standards — defining responsible-use policies, data security guidelines, and quality checkpoints for AI tool use within a financial systems context, including risk, governance, and compliance considerations.
• Measure and report AI impact, tracking productivity gains, error reduction, and time savings attributable to AI adoption, and presenting results and recommendations to senior leadership.

Ownership & Execution (Determined & Relentless Mindset)

• Own the Oracle Fusion PaaS extension strategy (OIC, VBCS, Autonomous DB, and related services), keeping customizations minimal, supportable, and upgrade-safe, and governing quarterly Oracle release adoption to protect stability, auditability, and upgrade paths.
• Set standards for API-led, event-driven, and batch integration patterns (REST/SOAP, FBDI, ADFdi, BI Publisher/OTBI, file-based and middleware flows) and ensure end-to-end integration monitoring with automated reconciliation and a measurable drop in manual exceptions.
• Ensure financial controls, audit readiness (SOX), and data integrity across all owned systems, driving structured root cause analysis for recurring issues and functional stability through disciplined incident resolution.
• Balance speed, scalability, and controls with a product-oriented mindset, thriving in fast-paced, high-ambiguity environments with exceptional prioritization across stability, delivery, and strategic initiatives.

CAPABILITIES & EXPERIENCE YOU BRING

Required Qualifications:

• 8–12+ years of ERP functional and/or technical experience, with strong hands-on expertise in Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials (GL, AR, AP, Cash, Fixed Assets, SLA) and end-to-end O2C and R2R processes in retail, eCommerce, or high-transaction environments.
• Strong experience with Oracle Fusion PaaS and integration tooling — OIC, REST/SOAP APIs, FBDI, BI Publisher/OTBI, VBCS, and SQL — including proven experience designing and operating inbound and outbound integrations connecting Fusion to commerce, order, payment, tax, banking, and reporting platforms.
• Hands-on AI practitioner and adoption leader: active daily user of GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT/Claude, Oracle AI, or equivalent tools, with demonstrated experience driving team-wide AI adoption, setting standards, training others, and measuring and reporting productivity impact.
• Demonstrated ability to build and retain high-performing, AI-first teams with a culture of ownership, learning, and continuous improvement, including growing team members into expanded scope and responsibility.
• Deep understanding of end-to-end business processes and cross-system data flows — order to cash, payments to settlement to bank, returns and refunds, record to report — with the ability to translate Finance, Accounting, Tax, and Treasury needs into scalable, controlled system solutions.
• Strong track record of automation delivery leveraging Oracle Fusion native capabilities, OIC, low-code/no-code platforms, or AI-native tooling, combined with familiarity with AI risk, governance, and compliance in enterprise financial systems (data privacy, auditability, controls).
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences, from engineering teams to C-suite, with strong project management instincts and experience managing Oracle, system integrators, and software vendors in complex eCommerce or retail environments.
