AI Data Company pioneered the Composable Customer Data Platform (CDP), which lets companies use their own data warehouse to collect, prepare, and activate customer data for marketing personalization and business operations. The new AI Decisioning platform goes a step further, allowing marketers to set goals and guardrails that AI agents can then use to personalize 1:1 customer interactions. Traditionally, only technical teams had the skills to access and use customer data. With AI Data Company, every business user can deliver personalized customer experiences, optimize performance marketing, and move faster by leveraging data and AI across their organization.

The Role

We are looking for an engineering leader to lead a team of best in class engineers. We believe in enabling our engineers to do their best work for our customers by giving them extremely high levels of ownership and autonomy. You would help by leading by example, continuing to raise our already high technical bar, and making thoughtful judgement calls.

Our engineering leaders serve as both active technical voices and strong people managers. The key outcomes we are looking for from this role include:

• Product Development: Lead the team in roadmapping and executing successful development of significant features and products as required to drive the business forward. Uphold a high technical bar, while making pragmatic tradeoffs

• Pace: Through a combination of leadership and technical expertise, improve the pace of execution of the team

• Recruiting: Be responsible for growing the team, including identifying needs, deciding how to evaluate candidates, and ensuring we hire high impact team members

• Reliability: Against the uphill battle of high growth/scale, up-level the team on reliability, resulting in fewer incidents, catching our own issues before our customers do, and a strong incident management hygiene

• People: Foster growth of team members and ensure strong engagement and motivation
  

Some of the problems we’ll be working on include:

• Data Warehouse Performance: We’re consistently pushing the limits of what data warehouses can handle in terms of speed, performance, and interactivity. We explore optimizations generally (e.g. optimizing queries, storing pre-computed state), as well as investigate warehouse-specific improvements.

• Analytics and Experimentation: How can AI Data Company help customers build segments and decide what data they want to sync? How can we facilitate experimentation to downstream tools, including tracking the performance of different audiences?

• Real-time Audience Syncing: Our users are always interested in faster syncing and fresher data. As warehouses become more real-time and adopt technologies like CDC, we’re excited to explore real-time audience computation and syncing.

• Generative AI: We’re continuously working on making the user experience of acting on data more seamless, and are optimistic generative AI can enhance user workflows.

• Reliably Streaming Events at Low Latency: We need to continue to scale our event product’s capabilities, while maintaining reliability and reducing the end to end latency of event processing. We also need to work with other teams who will be processing these events live to deliver new features.

• Improving Algorithms and Data Structures for Identity Resolution: Our identity resolution product needs to be able to process billions of rows efficiently. We’ll also be expanding the capabilities of this product, so careful work on the underlying algorithms will be required.

• Feature Development: We have a backlog of features we know customers want and we’d love to add to our products. This is an opportunity to stay close to customers and work with product and design, while doing deep distributed systems work.
