Engineering Team Lead

At Levno, we’re building technology that helps our customers make better decisions, save time and run more connected businesses. As we grow, we’re looking for an Engineering Team Lead to join our Auckland-based team and help shape the future of our platform.

This role combines hands-on technical leadership with leading people. You’ll report to our CTO, lead a team of talented engineers and work closely with Product, UX and Quality to turn customer insight into reliable, scalable solutions. You’ll have a real say in technical direction and in the kind of engineering culture we build. If you like pragmatic decisions, technically challenging problems and helping other engineers grow, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing

• Leading, coaching and developing your team, with regular feedback and growth conversations, and building the capability we’ll need as we scale
• Owning predictable delivery, balancing quality, speed and business value, and getting ahead of technical risks and dependencies
• Keeping our systems reliable, secure and performing well, and managing technical debt so we can keep moving quickly
• Working closely with Product, UX, Quality and Customer Success so engineering priorities line up with what customers need
• Improving how we work, from tooling and automation to engineering standards, and contributing to our technical roadmap
  
  

What you’ll bring

• Experience leading software engineering teams, including coaching, mentoring and performance management
• Strong hands-on experience across the software lifecycle, from design and architecture through to deployment and support
• A solid grasp of software architecture, API design, integration patterns and data modelling
• Experience with modern cloud platforms, distributed systems and production environments
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD and monitoring
• Good commercial judgement: you know when good enough is right and when it isn’t
• The ability to explain technical trade-offs clearly to people who aren’t engineers

It would be great if you’ve also led a team through growth or change, worked on SaaS or cloud-native products, or come from an agritech, IoT or data-driven environment. If you don’t tick every box, we’d still like to hear from you.
