Role: Lead Curriculum Developer

Compensation: 80,000 -120,000 (commensurate with experience and qualifications)

Work Location: Fully Remote

Reports to: CEO and Head of Curriculum Design

Company Description

FunFox Program is Australia's leading education company specializing in curating foundational learning experiences for young students. We offer small-group classes led by teachers rigorously trained in the FunFox Way to help students excel at primary school and beyond. Our mission is to foster a vibrant community of parents and students, bringing them together through regular in-person and virtual events.

Role Description

We are currently seeking a passionate and innovative Curriculum Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and refining curriculum content that aligns with our educational goals and pedagogical philosophy. As a Curriculum Developer at FunFox, you’ll play a crucial role in shaping the learning experiences of young students across Australia, ensuring our programs remain engaging, effective, and aligned with best practices in education.

What does a typical day look like?

To give you a clear preview of the role, curriculum development at FunFox is output-driven rather than strictly hour-based. We understand that creative and educational workflows vary, where some days are highly productive in terms of tangible deliverables, and others may be spent researching, refining learning objectives, and designing age-appropriate ways for students to practice concepts meaningfully. We are highly mindful of this variability.

Outside of your assigned classes, your time is entirely self-managed. Aside from a few structured touchpoints, you have the autonomy to design your workday to meet weekly goals.

Your Fixed Touchpoints

While the rest of your day is mostly self-directed, you will align with the team during these set times:

  • Teaching Team Meetings: Scheduled every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 7:30 AM PKT to collaborate and discuss perspectives on the content to be delivered.
  • Head Teacher Syncs: Regular check-ins with the Head Teacher outside of the structured team meetings to collaborate and track progress.

Core Deliverables & Focus Areas

You will be expected to meet weekly deadlines and contribute to a mix of immediate and ongoing projects. Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing high-quality curriculum content (worksheets and presentations for in-class use) that aligns with NSW educational standards and the FunFox Way.
  • Creating and refining lesson plans that incorporate innovative teaching methodologies and technologies to enhance student engagement.
  • Collaborating with teaching staff to gather feedback, assess curriculum effectiveness, and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Teaching up to 5 classes weekly to observe how students engage with the curriculum and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Assisting in training teachers on new curriculum materials and instructional strategies to ensure effective implementation in the classroom.

Requirements:

  • A passion for curriculum development and a genuine interest in enhancing the educational experiences of young learners.
  • Proven experience in creating and implementing curriculum for primary school students, particularly in English language arts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate educational concepts and methodologies.
  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders.
  • A growth mindset, with a commitment to continuous learning and adaptation of new teaching tools and technologies.
  • Previous experience in teaching or working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum Development, Instructional Design, or a related field.

Scope & Longevity

Please note that this is not a single, fixed-term project. We manage multiple active curriculum streams where your specific skill set will add ongoing value. There is consistent, long-term work available, though you should expect naturally busier and slower periods across the standard academic cycle.

Why Join Us:

  • Opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young learners.
  • Flexible working hours and the convenience of working from home.
  • Supportive team environment with ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Competitive compensation package.
