English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Tutor Shape student success by helping learners develop the academic English and study skills they need to achieve their potential Are you passionate about helping students develop the academic English and study skills they need to succeed in higher education? We are looking for a confident and approachable English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Tutor to join our Library & Learning Skills team at our Nottingham campus. In this rewarding role, you will deliver English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and assessment literacy support both in person and online to students studying a range of subjects, including Law, Business and Management, Criminology, Psychology and Computer Science. We have one part-time opportunity available: 0.6 FTE (21 hours per week) This is a hybrid role. Most of your working week will be spent on campus delivering engaging face-to-face teaching and supporting students in the classroom. When you are not required on campus, you'll have the flexibility to work remotely while preparing teaching materials, developing online resources and carrying out other role-related activities. The successful candidate will be confident delivering EAP and academic skills sessions to small groups, providing in-class support alongside academic colleagues, and facilitating engaging online learning. You will also enjoy creating high-quality, self-directed learning resources that enhance the student experience. As our English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Tutor, you will: Deliver timetabled EAP and academic skills sessions on campus, facilitating small-group learning and providing hands-on support to students throughout their learning journey. Design and deliver a range of EAP and assessment literacy interventions, including one-to-one appointments, workshops, webinars and self-directed learning resources. Work collaboratively with colleagues across Faculty and Library & Learning Skills to develop, deliver and evaluate an impactful programme of student learning support. Is this you? A recognised qualification in English language teaching (such as CELTA, DELTA, TESOL, TEFL or another relevant EAP qualification). Experience designing and delivering English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and academic skills support through a variety of teaching methods. The ability to facilitate engaging, student-centred learning and adapt your teaching style to meet diverse learner needs. Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines. A proactive approach, using your initiative to solve problems and continuously improve the student learning experience.
