Essential Job Functions

Enterprise AI platform engineering

  • Configure, administer, and extend enterprise AI platforms, including Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, and emerging tools.
  • Manage platform integrations, identity and access controls, security settings, licensing, and cost controls.
  • Automate platform configuration and deployment where supported using infrastructure as code, APIs, version control, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Rapidly evaluate and operationalize new platform capabilities, balancing speed, business value, and enterprise risk.

AI integrations and extensibility

  • Develop, deploy, and maintain MCP servers, API wrappers, connectors, and lightweight integrations that securely expose enterprise systems and capabilities to AI platforms.
  • Advise business and technology users on the responsible use of native platform capabilities, including skills, plugins, artifacts, agents, MCP servers, and workflow automation.
  • Apply sound engineering practices, including testing, source control, deployment automation, and operational monitoring, to platform extensions and integrations.
  • Troubleshoot integration failures, authentication issues, unreliable tool behavior, and other technical challenges.

Security and governance

  • Identify and mitigate risks involving sensitive data, high-impact transactions, excessive permissions, prompt injection, autonomous actions, and third-party integrations.
  • Partner with Security and IT to implement and maintain controls for data access, information protection, auditing, and agent governance.
  • Engineer practical, policy-driven guardrails that maximize employee autonomy and accelerate innovation while keeping risk within acceptable boundaries.

Technical enablement and continuous improvement

  • Proactively engage business units to identify high-value AI opportunities and rapidly help employees implement solutions, preferring deterministic approaches where appropriate.
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance, demonstrations, and reusable resources that accelerate independent adoption.
  • Implement telemetry to measure platform utilization, solution effectiveness, costs, and business outcomes.
  • Recognize when requirements warrant dedicated application engineering rather than general-purpose AI platform capabilities.

Other Skills/Abilities

  • Strong technical troubleshooting, problem-solving, and solution design skills.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions and communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated bias toward action, sound risk judgment, technical curiosity, and comfort operating in an environment that values rapid experimentation and employee autonomy.

Physical Requirements

  • Talking, hearing and using hands to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other computer components
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Job may require punctual attendance and regular presence on-site at the assigned work location.

Education and Experience

Required qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with modern AI platforms such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, or ChatGPT, including their capabilities and extensibility.
  • Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, or a comparable programming language.
  • Experience developing API integrations, automation scripts, or lightweight services using established software engineering practices.
  • Working knowledge of infrastructure as code, GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines, and Terraform or comparable tools.
  • Understanding of REST APIs, authentication, authorization, and enterprise security principles.
  • Familiarity with LLM capabilities, agentic tool use, limitations, and associated security risks.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting, problem-solving, and solution design skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience administering enterprise AI platforms and configuring identity, access, and data protection controls, including SSO, SCIM, RBAC, and DLP.
  • Experience building MCP servers using FastMCP or similar frameworks, including exposing existing APIs as AI-accessible tools.
  • Experience with AI gateways such as LiteLLM, Bifrost, or GCP Apigee AI Gateway, including configuration management through Terraform.
  • Experience with Copilot Studio, Power Platform, Claude Code, Google Workspace automation, or similar AI development environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, serverless computing, and lightweight service deployment.
  • Experience implementing AI governance, agent lifecycle management, observability, or evaluation practices in an enterprise environment.
