Working in tech at Australia Post is where innovation and problem solving meets great people and agile working. You’ll work with bright people on building and maintaining products and services that you and every other Australian get to benefit from every day. Whether you’re working from our modern office or your one at home, you’ll be part of a culture of collaboration and connection, making long-lasting impact right across Australia.
About the opportunity
As Enterprise Architect – Corporate & Enabling Services, you’ll own the business and technology architecture for the enterprise-wide support and enabling capabilities that allow Australia Post to operate effectively. Your scope will include People, Finance, Procurement, Risk and Compliance, Legal, Property, Corporate Affairs and Enterprise Services.
Enterprise Services is one of Australia Post’s corporate enabling services, providing the technology capabilities required to plan, govern, architect, source, deliver, secure, operate, improve and retire technology services and digital products. You’ll create coherent architecture across these enabling services so their value streams, information, processes, platforms, controls and operating models work together rather than evolving as separate functional silos.
Through capability-based planning and clear architectural trade-offs, you’ll help improve employee experience, service performance, control effectiveness, transparency, resilience and enterprise efficiency. Your work will align the domain to Australia Post’s organisational strategy and Enterprise Architecture Principles
This is a great opportunity to connect corporate and technology investments to improved efficiency, transparency, compliance, delivery performance and service reliability.
What you’ll deliver with us
Commercial & Strategic Priorities
- Own the Corporate & Enabling Services business and technology architecture, including its capability model, value streams, information, target operating model implications and target-state direction.
- Shape integrated multi-year roadmaps across People, Finance, Procurement, Risk and Compliance, Legal, Property, Corporate Affairs and Enterprise Services.
- Frame strategic options and trade-offs before major investment decisions, connecting enterprise support outcomes to capability, information, platform, operating-model and sourcing choices.
- Simplify and standardise fragmented processes, information, applications and services across functional boundaries while maintaining appropriate controls.
- Shape the operating architecture of Enterprise Services as a corporate enabling service, connecting its value streams, services, information, platforms, controls and accountabilities with other enabling functions.
- Apply IT4IT or an equivalent end-to-end technology-management model across strategy, portfolio, delivery, fulfilment and operations.
- Align corporate and enabling-service investments to Australia Post’s organisational strategy and Enterprise Architecture Principles, improving standardisation, reuse, interoperability and lifecycle transparency.
- Lead a virtual architecture community across the domain and provide clear direction to Principal Domain Architects, Solution Architects and strategic delivery partners.
- Provide independent enterprise-wide advice to senior business and technology executives, the Chief Architect and relevant executive governance forums on major strategic decisions and investments.
- Champion the responsible use of AI, automation and process mining to improve employee experience, service performance, control effectiveness and decision-making.
About you
You are a senior enterprise architect with broad experience shaping enterprise-wide corporate or enabling services in large, complex organisations. You bring strong enterprise technology expertise together with architecture experience across at least one other major enabling-service domain, such as People, Finance, Procurement, Risk and Compliance, Legal or Property.
You combine business architecture capability with a practical understanding of shared and enabling-service operating models, including value streams, capability modelling, service architecture, information, platforms, controls and retained accountabilities. You can connect decisions across corporate functions and enterprise technology and translate complex trade-offs into clear advice for senior executives.
You understand Enterprise Services as one of the organisation’s corporate enabling services. Your experience spans technology strategy, portfolio management, architecture, engineering, cloud, cyber security, DevSecOps and service management, with a focus on connecting technology services to broader enterprise support outcomes.
You’ll also bring
- Architecture experience spanning several corporate or enabling-service domains, including enterprise-scale technology services.
- Practical experience with IT4IT, ITIL, COBIT, TOGAF, SIAM, DevSecOps or product- and platform-based operating models.
- A track record transforming shared or enabling-service operating models through value streams, service catalogues, digital products, platforms and clearly retained accountabilities.
- Familiarity with corporate platforms such as SAP S/4HANA, SuccessFactors and Ariba, and technology-management platforms such as ServiceNow, LeanIX, Jira and Azure DevOps.
- Experience with shared services, enabling-function transformation, enterprise-platform consolidation, service integration or strategic sourcing.
- Experience applying AI, automation or process mining across corporate and enabling services.
- Credibility influencing senior leaders, mentoring architects and working with strategic partners across complex transformation portfolios.
What else is in it for you?
- Bring your whole self to work every day and be met by a welcoming bunch of people who respect and support you
- Flexible and hybrid working arrangements, like the opportunity to work from home two days per week
- Opportunities for growth and development through formal programs or mentorship
- Exclusive team member discounts and offers for more cash in your pocket, evolving policies for flexible working, leave types and access to health and wellbeing resources
