This position participates in the Enterprise Architecture Review Board (EARB) and Change Advisory Board (CAB), providing architecture analysis and input that supports sound technology decision-making across the organization. The Enterprise Architect operates at the intersection of architecture governance and solution delivery — translating enterprise standards into practical guidance for engineering, development, project, applications and business teams. This role draws from the Banking Industry Architecture Network (BIAN) service domains and best-of-breed enterprise architecture frameworks to support a modern, resilient, and composable architecture for a financial services organization. It requires strong technical depth, collaborative delivery, and a continuous improvement mindset. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Enterprise Architecture Maintain and evolve enterprise architecture artifacts, models, and documentation within the EA repository — Keesler's authoritative source for enterprise taxonomy. Support the ongoing alignment of current-state, transition-state, and target-state architecture documentation to Keesler Federal's strategic plan and EA blueprint. Apply BIAN service domain models and best-of-breed EA frameworks (e.g., TOGAF ADM, Zachman perspectives) to support architecture communication and analysis across all domains. Assist in preparing EARB agendas, architecture review packages, and architecture decision records. Contribute to the evolution of EA standards, patterns, and reference architectures as the enterprise architecture practice matures. Business Architecture Maintain business architecture artifacts including value stream models, capability maps, and operating model documentation. Support the connection between technology initiatives and business context by mapping solution designs to value stream and operating model constructs. Assist in applying BIAN service domain models to business capability mapping and banking service alignment efforts. Solution Architecture Provide solution architecture support for technology initiatives, ensuring proposed designs conform to enterprise architecture standards, patterns, and target-state models. Conduct architecture fit/gap analysis for vendor solutions, platform evaluations, and internal capability assessments. Contribute to the development and maintenance of reusable architecture patterns, reference architectures, and architectural building blocks. Support technical and project teams in applying architecture standards to solution design and implementation. Data & Application Architecture Maintain and evolve enterprise data architecture documentation, including standards for data sources, data domains, data modeling, data flows, data classifications, data integrations, data reporting, and data storage. Support the architecture of data platforms and pipelines, including data lake, data warehouse, data mesh, and real-time streaming patterns appropriate to Keesler Federal's analytics and operational data needs. Maintain and evolve enterprise application architecture documentation, including standards for application design, integration patterns, and lifecycle management across the application portfolio. Support application portfolio rationalization efforts — contributing architecture analysis to inform decisions for consolidation, modernization, or retirement with respect to the application disposition framework — TIME (Tolerate, Invest, Migrate, Eliminate). Maintain integration architecture and API standards documentation—Support API lifecycle governance and design consistency across the enterprise. Technology & Security Architecture Maintain technology and security architecture documentation across infrastructure, platform, cloud, networking, edge, virtualization, containerization, and service layers. Support hybrid-cloud modernization architecture efforts including cloud strategy documentation, containerization standards, and workload migration planning. Contribute to security architecture documentation and evolution, supporting the embedding of security standards across all domains consistent with financial industry regulatory requirements and zero-trust principles. Collaborate effectively across IT, business, and vendor stakeholders to advance architecture standards and practices. Contribute to the growth and maturity of the EA practice by sharing knowledge, documenting decisions, and supporting EA program initiatives. Mentor junior engineers and technical staff in applying enterprise architecture principles and standards to their work. Represent the EA practice with credibility and integrity in governance forums and cross-functional engagements.
