Working in tech at Australia Post is where innovation and problem solving meets great people and agile working. You’ll work with bright people on building and maintaining products and services that you and every other Australian get to benefit from every day. Whether you’re working from our modern office or your one at home, you’ll be part of a culture of collaboration and connection, making long-lasting impact right across Australia.
About the opportunity
As Enterprise Architect – Products & Retail Services, you’ll own the business and technology architecture for product and service management, pricing, retail operations and community-service capabilities. You’ll connect product strategy with customer channels, agreements, ordering, billing, finance, fulfilment and regulatory obligations to establish a clear target state and achievable multi-year roadmap aligned to Australia Post’s organisational strategy and Enterprise Architecture Principles.
Your scope will span the full product and service lifecycle, from market insight and concept development through definition, launch, performance management, change and retirement. It will also cover multichannel retail operations across physical outlets, digital channels, partners, agencies and licensees.
You’ll own product, service, pricing and offer architecture, while the customer-facing journey and experience of commerce remain within Customer & Growth. You’ll define the commercial and service intent of freight and delivery offerings, while the operational capabilities required to fulfil those offerings remain within Operations & Fulfilment. Through capability-based planning and clear architectural trade-offs, you’ll help improve time to market, offer consistency, margin, compliance and operational feasibility.
This is a great opportunity to simplify fragmented product and retail environments, improve time to market and establish trusted enterprise sources for product, service and commercial information.
What you’ll deliver with us
Commercial & Strategic Priorities
- Own the Products, Retail & Services business and technology architecture, including its value streams, capability model, target operating model implications and target-state direction.
- Shape multi-year roadmaps across product and service management, pricing, retail operations, outlet services, agencies, licensees and community services.
- Frame strategic options and trade-offs before major investment decisions, connecting product, pricing, channel and commercial outcomes to capability, information, platform and sourcing choices.
- Shape product catalogues, service catalogues, offers, bundles, pricing, discounts, promotions and eligibility capabilities.
- Establish coherent connections between product definitions, customer channels, customer agreements, ordering, billing, finance, fulfilment and regulatory obligations.
- Simplify fragmented product, pricing and retail capabilities and establish authoritative sources for product, service and commercial information.
- Align product, retail and service investments to Australia Post’s organisational strategy and Enterprise Architecture Principles, improving reuse and reducing duplication across offers, channels and platforms.
- Lead a virtual architecture community across the domain and provide clear direction to Principal Domain Architects, Solution Architects and strategic delivery partners.
- Provide independent enterprise-wide advice to senior business and technology executives, the Chief Architect and relevant executive governance forums on major strategic decisions and investments.
- Champion the responsible use of AI and emerging technology to improve product insight, retail service, commercial performance and speed to market.
About you
You are a senior enterprise architect with deep experience shaping product management, pricing, retail, service design or commercial strategy, target-state architecture and multi-year transformation roadmaps in large, complex organisations.
You combine strong product and retail domain expertise with business architecture capability, including product and service value streams, capability modelling and operating-model design. You can navigate complex trade-offs across customer channels, agreements, ordering, billing, finance, fulfilment, information and regulatory obligations, and translate them into clear advice for senior executives.
Your experience spans product-information management, pricing, offers, point of sale, payments, commerce and multichannel retail platforms. You balance commercial flexibility with enterprise standardisation and connect architecture decisions to measurable customer, commercial and operational outcomes.
You’ll also bring
- Experience in postal, retail, logistics, consumer services, financial services or another multiproduct and multichannel enterprise.
- Understanding of regulated pricing, community-service obligations, regulated products or public-service delivery.
- Experience with product-information-management, configure-price-quote, billing, revenue-management, point-of-sale and commerce platforms.
- Familiarity with SAP, Salesforce, Adobe Commerce or comparable product, retail and commercial platform ecosystems.
- Experience with corporate stores, agencies, licensees, franchisees or other third-party service-location models.
- Knowledge of merchandise, inventory, payments, retail workforce and outlet operations, and of freight and logistics services from a product-definition and commercial-governance perspective.
- Credibility influencing senior leaders, mentoring architects and working with strategic partners across complex transformation portfolios.
What else is in it for you?
- Bring your whole self to work every day and be met by a welcoming bunch of people who respect and support you
- Flexible and hybrid working arrangements, like the opportunity to work from home two days per week
- Opportunities for growth and development through formal programs or mentorship
- Exclusive team member discounts and offers for more cash in your pocket, evolving policies for flexible working, leave types and access to health and wellbeing resources
