From the beginning, Genentech has been a team of highly dedicated, passionate individuals. We are a place where people are united around a single purpose and an ambitious vision. Together, we aspire to deliver ever better health outcomes for patients while lowering overall healthcare costs. Our goal is to compel the customer to act on behalf of their patients while showing great commitment to the rare disease community, whose support is key. Utilizing innovative methods to identify patients who may benefit from treatment, we must take a highly strategic approach to patient access while assisting patients and their caregivers to navigate the healthcare system.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Enterprise Initiatives Manager is responsible for translating selected CE enterprise priorities and field-sponsored opportunities into well-governed, executable initiatives with clear ownership, milestones, measures, and accountability. This role provides the operational leadership that allows HEDs, Regional leaders, and other field partners to sponsor enterprise work without carrying the day-to-day coordination burden alone. The manager leads cross-functional execution, manages risks and dependencies, and ensures enterprise initiatives deliver intended outcomes while remaining connected to the broader CE portfolio and governance system.

SCOPE & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Enterprise Initiative Delivery

  • Lead planning and delivery of selected CE enterprise initiatives from definition through implementation and outcome review.
  • Translate approved priorities into clear workplans with owners, milestones, dependencies, measures, and decision points.
  • Maintain disciplined execution against agreed scope, timing, and outcomes.
  • Coordinate implementation across Regions, teams, and enterprise functions when work spans organizational boundaries.
  • Ensure initiatives transition effectively from planning into sustained business ownership when appropriate.

Field Sponsor Partnership

  • Serve as the operational partner to HEDs, Regional leaders, and other field partners who sponsor enterprise work.
  • Help sponsors clarify the business problem, desired outcome, scope, stakeholders, and decisions required.
  • Carry the operational coordination burden so sponsors can focus on strategic direction and business leadership.
  • Create transparent sponsor updates that highlight progress, risks, decisions, and support needed.
  • Ensure field-sponsored work remains connected to broader CE priorities and does not become isolated or duplicative.

Cross-Functional Orchestration

  • Mobilize the right partners across CE, Regions, RBO, DDA, L&SD, CPO, Field Medical, GPAA, and other functions as needed.
  • Clarify roles, handoffs, dependencies, and shared commitments across initiative teams.
  • Facilitate working sessions and decisions that move complex enterprise work forward.
  • Identify and resolve execution barriers at the appropriate level, escalating when needed.
  • Promote common execution standards while adapting the operating approach to the needs of each initiative.

Outcome Measurement, Risk & Escalation

  • Define practical measures of progress, adoption, impact, and intended business outcomes for enterprise initiatives.
  • Maintain clear visibility to risks, dependencies, decisions, and unresolved issues.
  • Escalate material risks and tradeoffs early with clear recommendations for action.
  • Lead outcome reviews and capture lessons that can improve future enterprise work.
  • Ensure decisions and follow-up actions are documented, owned, and completed.

Team Leadership & Execution Standards

  • Lead, coach, and develop Enterprise Operations Leads assigned to enterprise initiatives.
  • Set clear expectations for planning, stakeholder management, communication, risk management, and execution quality.
  • Allocate team capacity across initiatives based on business priority, complexity, and timing.
  • Build reusable initiative management tools, templates, and ways of working.
  • Contribute to common Enterprise Operations standards, talent practices, and continuous improvement.

  • Milestone, dependency, and decision tracking
  • Initiative status and escalation materials
