Role Description
Our client is an NGO focused on women's empowerment, technical and vocational skills development, employability, and economic empowerment. The organisation works with partners and stakeholders to deliver impactful training programmes and development initiatives.
The Entry Level Business Development & Project Coordinator is a full-time, hybrid role based in Lagos, with some flexibility to work from home. This role supports business growth by identifying prospects, assisting with client outreach, and helping to maintain relationships across the company’s various business units. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating project tasks and timelines, preparing reports, tracking deliverables, and communicating with internal teams to ensure projects are executed on schedule and within scope. The coordinator will assist with market research, proposal development, and presentation materials, as well as contribute to basic process documentation and follow-up on action items from meetings. The role requires proactive organization, clear communication, and a willingness to learn about multiple industries while supporting the company’s growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and develop partnership, sponsorship, grant, and business opportunities.
Research and engage potential corporate partners, NGOs, foundations, government, agencies, and other stakeholders.
Prepare professional business proposals, project proposals, concept notes, grant applications, reports, and presentations.
Coordinate assigned projects, programmes, workshops, and stakeholder activities.
Track project timelines, deliverables, and provide regular progress updates.
Conduct outreach and follow up with prospective partners and organisations.
Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
Represent the organisation professionally at meetings and official engagements.
Maintain proper records of proposals, contacts, projects, meetings, and partnerships.
Conduct research and provide business development insights to management.
Requirements
Minimum 1 year relevant experience in Business Development, Project Coordination, NGO/Nonprofit Operations, Partnerships, or a similar role.
Previous NGO experience is required.
ND, HND, or B.Sc. in a relevant field.
Strong proposal and report-writing skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Good understanding of NGO operations, partnerships, and project coordination.
Grant/proposal development experience is an added advantage.
Strong organisational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Good computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
Professional, confident, and presentable.
Candidate Requirements
Must reside around Aja, Abijo, Awoyaya, or nearby areas.
Must be able to commute conveniently to Abijo G.R.A when physical attendance is required.
Must be comfortable representing the organisation professionally.
Work Arrangement
The role is primarily hybrid, with the successful candidate working from home three times a week.
Physical attendance will be required when there are visitors, meetings, project activities, or official engagements. The candidate may also be required to represent the organisation at external meetings when necessary.
