Role Purpose This role provides operational and administrative support to both the Senior EHS Manager and the Environmental Supervisor, helping ensure the EHS team runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis. Beyond this support function, the successful candidate will champion a proactive safety culture across the organization, promoting safety awareness, encouraging employee participation, and fostering commitment to health and safety at every level. Key accountabilities Maintaining EHS Documentation and Record Keeping Data Entry and Monitoring of Trackers, Action Lists E.g. Update of Contactor- EHS Action Tracker and ensuring NOA Actions are followed up with the Senior EHS Manager, Environmental Supervisor and Contractor for effective close out. Assist with ensuring service providers are fulfilling their Service Level Agreements timeously. Assist with tracking of budget, supporting on VO’s, Out of budget process and receipt and processing of invoices. Communication & Co-ordination (Information flow, Meeting Support, Liaison) Ensuring SHE Audits, monthly, bi-annually are scheduled, prepared for and attended. Support in ensuring licenses, permits and authorisations, NCRs are dealt with effectively Support the implementation of the approved ESMS. Construction Support to Construction Manager Support HSE meetings with Contractors on site and ensure MoM is accurately recorded Document management Effectively communicate company values and objectives on site Act as a key resource for health and safety matters, providing guidance and support to management and employees. Facilitate and participate in Health and Safety Committee meetings, recording minutes and tracking action items. Reporting Coordinate Contractor HSE statistics collection and reporting obligations - (weekly & monthly & quarterly) with Senior EHS Manager Coordinate EHS audits with Consultants and Contractors and ensure reporting and closing of finding from audits Support on internal team reporting and preparation of external reporting to lenders Report any unsafe acts or unsafe conditions to the Principal Contractor Construction Site Managers and Contractors Role requirements Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety Environmental Management or related field of study Mandatory- registration with SACPCMP (Construction Health and Safety Officer) Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience as a dedicated EHS Administrator, Co-Ordinator, Safety Officer, preferably in the construction or renewable energy industry In possession of a valid driver’s license Industry knowledge, technical competence and skills Knowledge of EHS regulations Understanding of Environmental, Health & Safety Systems Construction / Renewable energy industry is advantageous Knowledge of IFC standards is an advantage Understanding of the construction permitting process is an advantageous Strong administrative and co-ordination skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Good report writing technique Who we are looking for Behavioural competencies: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
