Role accountabilities:

As an Environmental Project Manager, you will lead diverse teams of scientist, engineers, and planners to successfully execute environmental permitting projects for rail, renewable energy, oil and gas, and linear utilities. You will lead project teams in developing permitting strategies, and coordinate with clients to ensure successful project outcomes. Therefore, it is expected that you have demonstrated experience with state and federal laws and regulations, including the Clean Water Act, the Endangered Species Act, and the National Environmental Policy Act. You will provide senior level quality assurance/quality control for client deliverables, including agency consultations and permit applications. Additionally, you will coordinate additional project services that may include stormwater and erosion control planning, cultural resources, floodplain assessments, and various civil engineering components. During project delivery you will be the client point of contact and responsible for overall technical, commercial, and financial performance of projects, including project management responsibilities for scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, change, and contracts.

In this role, you will also be involved in supporting and/or managing the growth of new and existing client relationships in conjunction with business development and account leaders. This will include leveraging existing client relationships, supporting client account teams, and leading pursuits and proposal development.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required qualifications for the role include:

· Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, civil engineering, biology, ecology, geology, or similar environmental discipline.

· A minimum of seven years of total experience. Experience in the environmental consulting industry is preferred, however, associated experience with environmental agencies and departmental roles with commercial entities may be considered equivalent.

· Five years of experience managing environmental permitting projects, technical teams, schedules/budgets, and the delivery of high-quality work products.

· Demonstrated experience coordinating with Midwest federal, state, and local natural resource permitting agencies.

· Ability to lead the delivery of projects, ensuring client satisfaction, effective project management, and good communication and collaboration between multi-disciplinary teams of scientists, planners, engineers, and other specialists.

Preferred qualifications:

· Master’s degree in environmental science, urban planning, biology, ecology, geology, water resources, or similar discipline.

· Experience supporting and/or managing client development including identifying opportunities, developing and maintaining client relationships, and leading proposal development including the preparation of scope of work and project budgets

· Familiarity with field related project components including but not limited to wetland delineations, habitat reviews, construction oversight, stormwater compliance, and other similar tasks.

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
