Job Description

This is a remote position.

InterScripts, Inc. | Hybrid, with periodic onsite in East-Central Indiana | Full Time FTE

InterScripts is a healthcare IT services and SaaS company and an Epic partner supporting hospitals and health systems across the country. We are looking for an experienced, certified Epic Professional Billing Analyst for a health system client in the Indiana/Ohio region.

This is an Epic application build role, not an operational billing or RCM role. You will design, build, test, and support the Epic PB application. We want someone who has worked as a biller or coder and then moved into Epic analyst work, because they understand how the build affects claims, charges, and cash.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Design, build, and maintain Epic Resolute Professional Billing configuration, including billing system definitions, charge processing, and PB workqueues
  • Build and troubleshoot Charge Router rules, charge sessions, and routing logic between clinical applications and billing
  • Configure and maintain Claims build, including claim edits, claim rules, payer and plan setup, and 837P output
  • Support the Hospital Billing (HB) application and the PB/HB integration points that affect patient accounts and statements
  • Turn operational billing and coding requirements into Epic build, and give revenue cycle leaders practical recommendations
  • Run unit, integrated, and regression testing for new build, fixes, and Epic upgrades
  • Work and resolve incident and enhancement tickets within SLA, with clear documentation and change control
  • Partner with integration, reporting, and clinical application teams on cross-application workflows

LOCATION

This role needs periodic onsite presence. We prefer candidates who live within a 2 to 3 hour drive of East-Central Indiana, including:

  • Indiana: Indianapolis, Muncie, Anderson, Fort Wayne, Bloomington, Lafayette, Kokomo
  • Ohio: Dayton, Cincinnati, Columbus, Springfield, Hamilton, Lima
  • Kentucky: Northern Kentucky and Louisville

Requirements

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Current Epic certification in Professional Billing Administration, Claims, and Charge Router (required)
  • Experience with, or certification in, Epic Hospital Billing Administration (strongly preferred)
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience as an Epic PB analyst doing build, not only end-user or operational support
  • Prior work as a medical biller or coder before moving into an Epic analyst role
  • Working knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, modifiers, payer rules, and claim adjudication
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to trace a charge or claim issue from front end to back end
  • Clear communication with operational stakeholders and IT teams
