Role Summary

This role is built for construction coordinators working on healthcare projects who want to move upstream into planning and full project lifecycle delivery.

You will take ownership of medical equipment coordination from design through installation and commissioning, working directly with design teams, architects, contractors, and clinical stakeholders. You will be involved in real decision making that impacts design, cost, schedule, and hospital operations.

Key Responsibilities

1) Equipment Coordination During Design & Construction

- Coordinate medical equipment requirements with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing teams.
- Review drawings, shop drawings, and submittals for equipment integration.
- Ensure alignment between equipment lists, room layouts, and building services (power, HVAC, plumbing, structural, etc.)
- Identify clashes, missing requirements, and constructability issues early.

2) Equipment List Ownership & Change Management

- Manage and maintain the equipment list
- Track changes through structured processes.
- Coordinate updates across design, procurement, and construction teams
- Ensure approved changes are reflected in drawings, specs, and procurement packages

- Prepare or assist in preparing various types of related reports.

3) Procurement & Delivery Coordination

- Support procurement planning and documentation (tender packages, specifications, long lead items, phased delivery, delivery schedule)
- Coordinate vendor requirements, site readiness, and delivery logistics.
- Align equipment delivery with construction schedule and site constraints.

4) Installation, Commissioning & Turnover

- Coordinate installation sequencing with trades and vendors
- Support commissioning, deficiencies, and issue resolution
- Assist with training, handover, and operational readiness

- 3–5+ years in construction coordination on healthcare projects
- Experience working with general contractors, architects, engineers and vendors
- Experience with healthcare facilities (acute care, surgical, diagnostic imaging, etc.)
- Strong exposure to shop drawings, submittals, and MEP coordination

Strongly Preferred

- Experience coordinating medical equipment or complex systems
- Familiarity with healthcare design standards and equipment installation requirements

- Adaptable schedule to collaborate effectively across North American time zones.

- Able to perform effectively under tight and demanding project timelines

- Experience on hospital job sites or coordination meetings

Skills That Matter

- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and errors.

- Ability to read and challenge layout drawings (not just review)
- Strong coordination across multiple disciplines
- Understanding of cost, schedule, and installation impacts
- Comfortable working in fast moving project environments

- Extensive experience using Microsoft Excel for complex data management and modeling.

- Extensive experience using Microsoft Outlook for communication and scheduling coordination.

- Extensive experience using PDF tools (Acrobat, BlueBeam, etc.) for document review, redlining, and coordination.
