We are seeking a ESG Controlling Trainee to be based in our Poznań office to join our Group ESG Controlling team, within Group Controlling and Reporting.

Ready to help build a better future for generations to come?

In an ever-changing, fast paced world, we owe it to ourselves and our future generations to live life responsibly. At ROCKWOOL, we work relentlessly to enrich modern living through our innovative stone wool solutions.

Join us and make a difference!

Your future team:

Join our Group ESG Controlling team and make an impact on Rockwool's sustainability journey. As part of Group ESG Controlling, you will work alongside a highly international team consisting of four professionals working across multiple locations. Our team combines deep expertise in controlling, reporting, sustainability, and IT – providing a good opportunity to develop your skills and grow professionally in the fast-evolving field of ESG reporting. Your core responsibility will be quality assurance: you will validate ESG data, review methodologies, and strengthen the controls behind our ESG disclosure in sustainability statements and ESG ratings schemes. If you have a passion for controlling and data integrity, this role will deepen your expertise in the critical discipline of ESG governance and corporate disclosure.

What you will be doing:

  • Review and verify ESG data from across Rockwool to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency;
  • Examine the methods and calculations used in ESG reporting, identifying control gaps and recommending improvements to strengthen our processes;
  • Support the development and maintenance of documentation, policies, and procedures that underpin our ESG reporting governance;
  • Work with colleagues across Group ESG Controlling and external stakeholders to gather information, resolve data discrepancies, and embed best practices;
  • Contribute to ad hoc ESG projects and participate in process improvement initiatives as the team evolves its control framework

What you bring:

  • Ideally in your last year of Bachelor studies or beginning of Master studies (Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Sustainability, Business);
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data;
  • Attention to detail with a genuine interest in control, order, and data integrity;
  • Strong English communication and writing skills (business level fluency);
  • An understanding of manufacturing environments and processes is considered an advantage;
  • Knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks (e.g., Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, European Sustainability Reporting Standards, Greenhouse Gas Protocol, Carbon Disclosure Project) is a plus

We know that you might not meet all the things on this list, but you might bring skills and experience that we haven’t even included here.

What we offer:

As part of the cooperation, we offer:

  • flexible arrangements regarding the timing of the agreed activities, taking into account your university schedule;
  • the possibility of performing the agreed activities from our office or remotely, as mutually agreed;
  • opportunities to participate in team-building and other company events;
  • an introduction programme to help you understand the relevant processes and get to know the people you will cooperate with.

You will also have access to our modern office, including comfortable spaces for individual work and collaboration, located in Nowy Rynek building, within walking distance of the railway station and major universities in central Poznań.

It could be a great opportunity to start your professional career with ROCKWOOL!
