Estimator

We are working with a leading UK tier 1 main contractor within their fit out team, focusing on major fit out projects £30m+.

With a well-established Fit Out Division, the business specialises in delivering complex interior fit-out and refurbishment projects, working collaboratively with clients, consultants and supply chain partners to create high-performing, innovative spaces.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, an exciting opportunity for an Estimator has arisen to join the Fit Out team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of fit-out and refurbishment projects, working within a collaborative team environment and contributing to the successful completion of projects from pre-construction through to handover.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established contractor, but with the chance to influence the growth of the business and shape the division, working face to face with clients and developing important relationships.

Estimator Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial fit-out, refurbishment and interior construction projects.
• Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications and employer's requirements to establish project scope and identify potential risks or opportunities.
• Obtain, analyse and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure competitive and commercially robust pricing.
• Prepare bills of quantities, pricing schedules, cost plans and tender breakdowns as required.
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and internal stakeholders throughout the tender process.
• Undertake take-offs and measurement of construction works using relevant estimating software and digital tools.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and alternative construction methods to improve cost efficiency without compromising quality or programme.
• Assess project risks, exclusions, assumptions and commercial considerations, ensuring these are clearly reflected in tender submissions.
• Work collaboratively with pre-construction managers, quantity surveyors, designers and operational teams to develop winning tender strategies.
• Attend tender review meetings, site visits and subcontractor meetings where required.
• Assist with the preparation of tender presentations and handover documentation for successful projects.
• Maintain accurate estimating records, cost databases and historical pricing information to support future tenders and continuous improvement.

Estimator Requirements

We are keen to speak with individuals who have experience within the construction or fit-out sector and who are passionate about delivering high-quality projects.

You will ideally demonstrate:

• Relevant experience in construction, fit-out or refurbishment projects.
• Worked for a tier 1 or tier 2 main contractor
• The ability to work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
• A commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
