Navy Federal Credit Union currently does not provide sponsorship for this role. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.
To support Navy Federal's Cloud Core Banking modernization efforts, we are seeking an experienced Principal Solution Engineer to lead the design and implementation of the Member Master Data Management platform, a strategic capability focused on establishing trusted, authoritative member information across the enterprise.
In this role, the incumbent will drive the design and delivery of secure, scalable, and resilient technology solutions that enable a single, trusted view of member information across banking, lending, servicing, digital channels, analytics, and other enterprise platforms. Working closely with product owners, business stakeholders, engineers, security teams, and architects, you will help establish solution patterns, integration approaches, governance standards, and operational controls that support enterprise adoption and long-term scalability.
The ideal candidate combines strong solution design and engineering expertise with deep experience in integration, data management, and platform implementation. This role is delivery-focused, requiring the ability to translate strategic objectives into practical technology solutions while ensuring alignment with technology strategy, enterprise architecture, product engineering, security, and operational standards.
- Lead solution architecture and engineering activities supporting the Member Master Data Management (MMDM) platform and its integration with Cloud Core Banking and enterprise systems.
- Design and implement Master Data Management (MDM) capabilities, including identity resolution, match/merge/survivorship, golden record management, relationship modeling, householding, ownership hierarchies, and stewardship workflows.
- Establish MMDM as the authoritative source for member information through enterprise mastering, federation, synchronization, and governance patterns.
- Define and implement secure integration architectures using APIs, events, streaming, and enterprise messaging patterns to enable real-time information exchange across platforms.
- Establish Member Master Data federation and synchronization patterns supporting Cloud Core Banking, legacy platforms, digital channels, and enterprise data stores.
- Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to translate business requirements into solution architectures, engineering designs, reusable patterns, and implementation roadmaps.
- Design and operationalize enterprise member data products, including member profile, member relationships, account ownership, consent and preferences, verified income, and verified address domains.
- Leverage approved standards for APIs, canonical models, event contracts, observability, resiliency, performance, and security to deliver solutions.
- Partner with Information Security and Risk teams to implement privacy, consent, identity management, access controls, auditability, lineage, and data protection controls.
- Enable low-latency, event-driven architectures leveraging API gateways, event platforms, operational data stores, and cloud-native services.
- Drive adoption of engineering best practices including DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, platform observability, and operational excellence.
- Stay current on emerging technologies and industry solutions related to Master Data Management, data integration, data governance, semantic technologies, knowledge graphs, and AI-enabled platforms.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineering teams while promoting architectural consistency, platform reuse, delivery excellence, and operational sustainability.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 12+ years of experience in solution architecture, software engineering, integration engineering, platform engineering, or related technology disciplines.
- Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale applications, distributed systems, and integration solutions.
- Demonstrated experience with Master Data Management (MDM) implementations, including customer or member mastering, golden record management, identity resolution, match and merge processes, survivorship rules, and data quality practices using at least one MDM platform (i.e. Reltio, Profisee, Semarchy, Ataccama) .
- Experience designing and implementing API-based, event-driven, and service-oriented architectures.
- Experience delivering cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure, AWS, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), or similar cloud platforms.
- Strong understanding of data architecture and data management practices, including data modeling, governance, stewardship, metadata management, lineage, privacy, and data quality.
- Experience implementing operational data stores, enterprise data platforms, and real-time information services.
- Experience with modern integration technologies, including microservices, REST APIs, messaging platforms, event streaming technologies, and API management solutions.
- Solid understanding of application and integration security principles, including authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure design practices.
- Experience working within DevOps and DevSecOps environments, including CI/CD automation, infrastructure management, monitoring, and operational support.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and relationship management skills with the ability to effectively partner across business and technology organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business objectives and requirements into practical, scalable, secure, and maintainable technology solutions.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience within the financial services industry, including banking, credit unions, lending, payments, or related sectors.
- Experience in financial industry data models like Financial Services Logical Data Model (FSLDM) or Banking and Financial Markets Data Warehouse Model (BFMDW) or Oracle Financial Services Data Foundation (OFSDF).
- Successful delivery of at least one full lifecycle implementation of Master Data Management capabilities in the Customer domain. Financial/Banking business vertical preferred.
- Experience supporting large-scale modernization programs, particularly core banking transformations and multi-platform integration initiatives.
- Familiarity with Oracle Banking, Oracle Party, Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), or comparable banking platforms.
- Experience establishing data stewardship processes, data quality controls, identity resolution, and record matching practices within enterprise MDM environments.
- Knowledge of modern data architecture approaches, including enterprise data products, canonical data models, Data Mesh, Data Fabric, and domain-oriented design principles.
- Familiarity with semantic technologies, knowledge graphs, and advanced information management platforms.
- Experience supporting data and information services that enable analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and emerging digital capabilities.
