Event Information Listing Assistant

Customer Service | Marketing Information | Remote | Full-time or part-time
Pay £28.25–£30.25 per hour

Give visitors dependable event details

The Event Information Listing Assistant takes approved event facts and places them into online listings. A visitor should be able to see what the event is, when it happens and where to find the official next step.

You would check the supplied title, date, access information and link, then prepare or update the relevant listing in the employer’s system. The position is remote and sits between basic marketing support and customer service: accurate information reduces avoidable questions from people who may attend.

You would not plan events, negotiate speakers or decide that a draft date is final. The organiser provides the authorised information. If the source is incomplete, you would ask for the missing detail before publishing. If an online listing already exists, you would check whether the new instruction replaces it or adds another event. Accidentally creating two conflicting listings can confuse visitors and colleagues, so a search for the existing entry is part of the process.

For a new listing, establish:

  • Which organiser supplied the final details.
  • The approved title, date and next-step link.
  • Whether a page for the same event is already online.

These are preparation checks, not authority to finalise an event the organiser has not approved.

A listing from start to finish

An ordinary request might provide an event name, approved description, date and registration page. You would enter those fields, check the date format and follow the registration link. If the link opens a different event, you would flag it. You would preview the listing for missing characters or awkward line breaks, then publish or submit it for approval according to the team’s process. After the page is live, you would verify that the displayed information matches the approved source and record the result.

Sometimes the event is changed. A later note may revise a start time or the link for online attendance. You should identify which live listing is affected, update only the authorised detail and check whether a colleague also needs to know about the change. A cancellation must be handled through the employer’s instructions, not simply erased without a trace if people may already have seen the information. The aim is a public listing that reflects the organiser’s current approved facts.

For a changed listing, record:

  • The field that changed and the source of the new information.
  • Whether the live page now shows the new detail.
  • Any separate communication the organiser still needs to handle.

That helps prevent a page edit from being mistaken for a complete communication plan.

Everyday responsibilities

  • Locate the existing event record before creating another listing.
  • Transfer approved titles, dates and links into the online editor.
  • Check time and date presentation against the supplied source.
  • Test the public registration or information link.
  • Preview the listing and correct simple entry errors.
  • Ask for approval when key details are missing or inconsistent.
  • Update an existing record after a documented change.
  • Keep a brief note of what was published or sent for review.

This is an introductory role. Previous event marketing, office administration or customer service experience can help, but none is required. The employer will train you on its online editor, event categories and approval steps. An applicant with little experience may already have the relevant ability to move carefully between a source document and a form. You should be willing to double-check a date and write a clear question when the organiser’s instruction is incomplete.

You will not be expected to write promotional claims from scratch or determine how widely the event should be advertised. You may use an approved short description, but content changes requiring judgement go to the responsible person. A finished listing is accurate, accessible through the intended link and traceable to its source. If publication is pending, the task should say so; merely entering text in an editor does not mean visitors can see it.

Remote work suits this computer-based task. A home office area can support close checking of online event details. The position may be full-time or part-time, with an hourly range of £28.25–£30.25. The hiring company can explain the type of events and its working arrangements during selection.

How to be considered

Show any experience updating a webpage, maintaining a calendar or checking information for an audience. It can come from a course, volunteer event or another job.

Specific event software is not an entry requirement because the company’s process will be taught. If you’re selected for the next step, you may be asked to complete an application on the hiring company’s website. Your first application should give a clear account of the tasks you have genuinely handled.
