Event Registration Support Assistant

Customer Service | Event Registration | Remote | Full-time or part-time | 24.50–26.25 per hour

Help a registration reach the right place

An event registration should not disappear because a field was left blank or a confirmation email failed to arrive. This remote role checks online submissions for the details the organizer requires, answers routine registration questions using approved information, and keeps the attendee list accurate. The Event Registration Support Assistant does not decide eligibility for a restricted event, collect payment outside approved systems, or promise a place when capacity has not been confirmed.

A registrant may ask whether their form was received. You would look up the submission, verify the correct record, and give the current status. Another may submit twice after seeing no confirmation. Rather than creating two seats, you would flag or merge records only as instructed. If an accessibility question or a cancellation policy question goes beyond the supplied guidance, send it to the organizer promptly with enough context for a useful answer. This is customer service supported by steady office administration.

The tasks

  • Review new web-based event forms for required contact and attendance details.
  • Check an existing record before treating a repeat submission as new.
  • Send standard confirmation or missing-detail messages when authorized.
  • Update the online registration list as replies arrive.
  • Route payment, accommodation, or eligibility questions to the organizer.
  • Note withdrawals or changes without silently removing their history.
  • Make a simple summary of unresolved submissions for the event team.
  • Follow privacy instructions when handling attendee information.

The pace may increase near a registration deadline. You will need to keep the status accurate even when several people ask similar questions. A good reply distinguishes “we received your form” from “your place is confirmed” when those are different steps. You may be asked to compare an approved event page with the standard answers so that the team sends current information. If the source material disagrees, seek clarification before responding.

No event planning experience is required. Customer service and office administration experience are assets, and a newcomer who has organized a school or community activity may have equally relevant habits. The hiring company will teach its online registration system, standard replies, and escalation rules. Clear writing, care with names and dates, and the willingness to ask a question are what matter.

The opening is remote, with part-time or full-time hours possible. A home office or another private computer workspace is appropriate for the attendee list. The employer will confirm the event calendar, coverage hours, and actual pay.

A registration list may be used by several event staff at once. If a colleague is already checking a submission, avoid making a competing change to its status. For an event with a waiting list, keep “registered,” “pending,” and “waitlisted” distinct and use only the organizer's approved terms. Do not imply that a payment or submitted form guarantees attendance unless the source confirms that it does. After a last-minute correction, the check-in team should see the final name and status, with the earlier change traceable if questions arise.

You may also help reconcile bounced confirmation messages. A returned email needs a follow-up path rather than an assumption that the registrant chose not to attend.

The work includes distinguishing a question about attendance from an actual registration change. A person who asks what time an event starts has not necessarily changed their booking. Record the question and answer without altering their seat.

A registration may include two attendees under one contact email, a missing session choice, or a question about an accessibility arrangement. Connect each person with the correct registration and pass any decision or accommodation request to the event organiser. Do not count a place as confirmed if the online system still shows a pending step. A useful reply identifies the exact item the registrant needs to complete and explains how the organiser will follow up. This is introductory customer service supported by accurate office administration rather than event planning authority.

Applying

You can describe a time you tracked RSVPs, answered practical questions, or caught a duplicate entry. The example does not need to come from a paid event job. Tell the hiring team what you actually handled. If you move ahead, the employer may request a further application on its website. More detail about the events and training will be provided to applicants moving forward.
