About the Role & Team
This role is critical to driving audience growth and engagement for IDC's flagship events and summits in China. As we expand our presence in the market and set higher participation goals, we need a dedicated professional who understands the local business landscape and can lead targeted attendee acquisition campaigns across mainland China. The successful candidate will strengthen enterprise outreach to China's leading organizations, including state-owned enterprises, major domestic technology companies, and multinationals operating in the region. They will optimize the audience mix across C-suite executives, IT leaders, and business decision-makers. They will also adapt outreach to local channels and preferences, including WeChat, and to local business etiquette. This role will directly contribute to revenue growth and event success by increasing qualified attendance and expanding brand reach for client-sponsored events in China.

What You’ll
Do

  • Attendee acquisition strategy and execution
    • Develop and execute attendee recruitment plans for each China event, with clear registration, attendance, and audience-mix targets.
    • Lead end-to-end acquisition campaigns across email, WeChat (official accounts, groups, and direct outreach), digital, and tele-outreach channels.
    • Adapt messaging and outreach to local business culture, platform preferences, and etiquette, so invitations resonate with senior executives.
  • Team leadership and development
    • Lead, coach, and develop the China audience development team, setting clear goals, campaign ownership, and performance expectations.
    • Build a high-performance culture through regular one-to-ones, structured feedback, and defined career development paths.
    • Allocate workload and resources across concurrent events, and set up repeatable processes, playbooks, and quality standards for campaign execution and tele-outreach.
    • Act as the bridge between the China team and regional and global colleagues, ensuring local priorities are heard and global standards are followed.
  • Data quality and audience database management
    • Own the quality of China audience data, including accuracy, completeness, consistency, and de-duplication across all systems.
    • Build and maintain audience databases aligned to target profiles (CIOs, IT leaders, and business decision-makers), segmented by industry, seniority, company type, and region.
    • Define and enforce data standards, including field structures, validation rules, and regular data hygiene cycles.
    • Ensure all data collection, storage, and outreach comply with China's data privacy and marketing regulations, including PIPL, and IDC's global policies.
    • Track data quality metrics (bounce rates, contact accuracy, opt-out rates, enrichment coverage) and report on improvements over time.
    • Oversee data partners and vendors, holding them to quality, compliance, and delivery standards.
  • Funnel optimization and performance
    • Optimize the funnel from invitation to registration to attendance, and apply findings across the portfolio.
    • Analyze acquisition performance, ROI, and engagement metrics, and recommend continuous improvements.
    • Report regularly on progress against targets to regional and global leadership.
  • Collaboration and vendor management
    • Partner with marketing, sales, and content teams to define attendee mix and value propositions for each event.
    • Align with regional and global teams on event positioning, business goals, and CRM and registration platform standards.
    • Manage vendors, agencies, and local partners for campaign execution.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or Business (Master's preferred).
  • 6–8 years of experience in B2B marketing, audience acquisition, or event marketing, including at least [2–3] years managing a team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to data quality, with experience building or enforcing data standards and working with large B2B contact databases.
  • Strong expertise in CRM and marketing automation tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo, or equivalent) and data-driven marketing.
  • Proven ability to execute campaigns targeting senior-level audiences in the China market, with hands-on experience in WeChat-based outreach.
  • Solid understanding of China's data privacy and marketing compliance requirements.
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English, written and spoken, for working with local audiences and global stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.
  • Adaptable, results-oriented, and self-motivated.
