EverPro, a business within EverCommerce, provides software and solutions designed to help home and field service businesses run and grow their companies with greater efficiency and confidence. EverPro brings together purpose-built tools across key trades—including field service, remodeling and roofing, landscaping, and pest and lawn—so service professionals can manage operations, engage customers, and drive long-term growth.

Our solutions support the full lifecycle of running a service business, from scheduling and dispatching work, to estimating, invoicing, and payments, to customer communication, reputation management, and business insights. Together, these connected solutions help service pros win more jobs, save time, and build stronger, more resilient businesses.

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to focus on our Invoice Simple brand and lead our SaaS Growth team. Invoice Simple is the leading invoice app, and still growing rapidly. Over the years we’ve supported hundreds of thousands of delighted customers using our highly rated iOS and Android apps and our website.

We work with TypeScript and ReactJS-based frameworks and have a deep understanding of the Android and iOS platforms. Our server-side components are implemented in TypeScript, running on NodeJS, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL.

We believe in moving fast and continuous delivery. Supported by the team, every member is responsible for their own changes, from design through development and automated testing to deployment in production. We are focused on continually improving our craft, pushing the boundaries of what AI can do for our users, and keeping our product the top invoicing app in the world.

About You

You are a highly technical, seasoned leader who remembers what it takes to write great code, having previously worked as a Senior Software Engineer. You deeply understand how engineers work, think, and thrive. You are a strategic thinker able to articulate a vision, but you are also deeply pragmatic, well-versed in Agile methodologies, and an expert in driving experiment-driven development within a Product-Led Growth (PLG) environment. You possess strong analytical acumen, bringing vital knowledge of experiment design methodology, product analytics, SQL, and statistical fundamentals to guide data-informed product decisions.

You are a talent magnet, capable of attracting, hiring, and retaining top-tier engineering talent. You are passionate about high performance, putting the development of your team and the delivery of high-quality, scalable software above all else. You pride yourself on clear, transparent communication, seamlessly bridging the gap between highly technical engineers and cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Scale: Direct, mentor, and grow cross-functional squads of engineers across two distinct teams: SaaS Growth and Lifecycle Growth.
  • Hire Top Talent: Act as a talent magnet, identifying, attracting, and successfully hiring engineering talent to build out the new Lifecycle Growth team and scale existing operations.
  • Drive PLG & Business Outcomes: Champion experiment-driven development (A/B testing, rapid prototyping) to support our Product-Led Growth model. You will directly drive product adoption and funnel optimization, focusing on our core PLG imperative of Activation & Expansion to maximize Total New MRR.
  • Data-Driven Execution: Design, run, and analyze rapid PLG loops using feature flags and product analytics tools.
  • Process Excellence: Lead all aspects of the software development lifecycle within your pod. Leverage your Agile expertise to continually improve team processes, cadence, and predictability.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the technical translator and strategic partner. Communicate clearly and effectively with product management, engineering peers, marketing, executive leadership, and other stakeholders.
  • Foster Growth: Manage performance, provide ongoing coaching, and actively seek out opportunities to develop your engineers to their full potential.

Skills and experience needed for success in this role:

  • Technical Pedigree: 8+ years of overall software engineering experience, including a proven track record as a Software Engineer prior to moving into management.
  • Leadership Experience: 5+ years of experience managing software engineering teams, ideally managing multiple pods or a team of 7+ engineers.
  • Growth & Analytics Mastery: Strong working knowledge of experiment design methodology, SQL, Statistics 101, and hands-on experience with product analytics tools (such as Amplitude, Mixpanel, Heap).
  • PLG & Agile Expertise: Deep understanding of the Product-Led Growth (PLG) model, experiment-driven development, and modern Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
  • Recruiting Chops: Demonstrated success in interviewing, closing, and managing engineers, with a readiness to actively build a new team from the ground up.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a broad range of audiences, including non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Technical Foundation: Demonstrated technical leadership in full-stack web/mobile development. Proficiency in modern languages and frameworks (ideally TypeScript, React, Node.js, and MongoDB/PostgreSQL).
  • Remote Leadership: Experience effectively leading, motivating, and fostering a strong culture within a remote or distributed work environment.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Production experience working with massively adopted (100k+ users) mobile applications.
  • Experience with payment concepts, APIs, and fintech integrations.
  • Previous experience working in fast-moving startup environments.
  • An entrepreneurial attitude with a strong interest or background in growth hacking.
