C++ developer in Sinumerik HMI
You’ll make an impact by:
- Contributing to C++ feature development throughout the software development lifecycle, including implementation, testing, code review, and maintenance
- Improving code quality and readability by applying best practices and participating in refactoring activities
- Contributing to technical discussions and supporting the implementation of software design solutions
- Participating in code reviews, learning from feedback, and following established engineering practices
- Collaborating with testers to improve software testability and reliability using Python-based test infrastructure
- Writing and maintaining automated tests and supporting Python-based test automation
- Using development and testing tools to streamline workflows and improve efficiency
- Working with Git-based workflows, including branching, merging, and resolving merge conflicts
- Developing and maintaining cross‑platform functionality (Linux and Windows builds)
- Troubleshooting complex issues (debugging, logs, root cause analysis) in a hardware‑integrated environment
- Collaborating closely with testers, architects, and other stakeholders in a Scrum team
- Using modern development tools, including AI-assisted solutions, to improve productivity, code quality, and development efficiency
- College/university degree in IT (or equivalent ongoing studies)
- Basic experience with C++ software development (university projects / internship / thesis are welcome)
- Solid understanding of OOP and OOD
- Analytical mindset, strong system-level thinking
- Motivation to learn industrial automation concepts and modern C++ practices
- Ability to work autonomously with mentoring support
- English at an active communication level
- Interest or basic knowledge of industrial automation, CNC, or other hardware‑integrated domains
- Experience with AI-assisted coding (e.g., GitHub Copilot) and disciplined validation/testing of generated code
- Scripting language knowledge (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) is a plus for tooling/test tasks
- Design patterns knowledge
