Our client, an in-house technology consultancy of a global consulting firm, is seeking an experienced and hands-on Software Engineering & Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Lead to drive the architectural design, development, automated testing, and operational excellence of mission-critical enterprise platforms. In this role, you will champion platform resilience and release velocity, bridging deep software engineering practices with cutting-edge SRE principles across large-scale distributed systems.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Leading the architectural design, development, and deployment of scalable enterprise software solutions adhering to modern engineering standards.
• Driving end-to-end SDLC processes, including requirements analysis, system architecture, automated testing, deployment, and production support.
• Architecting and implementing enterprise test automation frameworks and strategies to significantly improve software quality, system reliability, and release velocity.
• Designing, maintaining, and scaling automated CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration, automated testing gates, and continuous delivery.
• Embedding core SRE principles across the platform lifecycle to maximize system availability, fault tolerance, and operational efficiency.
• Establishing, tracking, and optimizing SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets to ensure service performance objectives are consistently met.
• Leading root-cause analyses (RCA), incident management workflows, and blameless post-incident reviews to drive continuous platform enhancement.
• Championing full-stack observability practices through structured monitoring, centralized logging, intelligent alerting, and telemetry performance analysis.
• Driving platform automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives across containerized environments.
• Mentoring engineering teams on software craftsmanship, automated testing methodologies, and reliability engineering.

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of commercial software engineering experience building and scaling distributed enterprise applications.
• Deep expertise in Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, software architecture patterns, and engineering best practices.
• Proven track record designing and executing enterprise-wide test automation strategies and frameworks.
• Strong hands-on background in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), production operations, and high-availability architecture.
• Demonstrated mastery of CI/CD automation, DevOps practices, and release governance.
• Solid background across hyperscaler cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
• Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, specifically Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling (Terraform, Ansible, or similar).
• Deep expertise in observability, telemetry, and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, or Dynatrace).
• Experience working within Agile, Scrum, and DevSecOps frameworks.
• Consultant mindset: exceptional analytical problem-solving skills, executive communication, and the ability to drive technical standards across cross-functional teams.
• Strong technical leadership capabilities with experience guiding developers, SREs, and operational teams toward engineering excellence.

Must-Haves:

• 5+ years of enterprise software engineering and architecture experience.
• Strong practical command of SRE methodologies (SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, resilience, performance profiling).
• Demonstrated experience building and scaling test automation frameworks.
• Extensive background with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing integrations, and DevOps tooling.
• Deep hands-on experience with modern observability, telemetry, and incident management suites.
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Fluent English communication skills for daily technical collaboration and stakeholder alignment.

Location & Working Setup:

• Hybrid work model: 2 days per week on-site at the office in Budapest, Hungary.
• Permanent, full-time employment contract directly with the client.
