Exective Director (ED)

About the Role
The Executive Director leads CommonAct’s early-stage growth, translating strategy into execution, strengthening operations, and building organizational credibility. The ED works closely with the Board and CEO to ensure programs and initiatives deliver measurable impact.

Purpose
To oversee overall organizational performance, ensure operational efficiency, drive program impact, and position CommonAct for sustainable growth and funding.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations, aligning mission, strategy, and execution

• Oversee program delivery and ensure measurable outcomes

• Build internal systems for reporting, accountability, and compliance

• Support fundraising by engaging potential donors and collaborators

• Represent CommonAct externally to maintain credibility and strategic relationships

• Manage and mentor staff, volunteers, and consultants

Qualifications

• Proven leadership in nonprofits, social enterprises, or mission-driven organizations

• Strong execution skills and operational discipline

• Experience with funder engagement and building organizational credibility

• Familiarity with climate action, economic development, or systems-change work (Bangladesh context preferred)

Compensation
Unpaid interim position; a modest stipend may be introduced once funding is secured.
