About the Role

NUMA Accounting Services is looking for a Project Accountant to support our clients on external, project-based accounting engagements.

This role will work directly with client teams to manage, review, and improve accounting processes and financial reporting. The Project Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of accounting information while helping clients resolve accounting issues and strengthen their financial processes.

This is a hands-on role suited for an accounting professional who is comfortable working independently, analyzing financial information, communicating with clients, and managing accounting deliverables within agreed timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Support clients with day-to-day accounting and financial reporting activities.
• Review accounting transactions and assess the appropriate accounting treatment.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Perform General Ledger (GL), Balance Sheet, and account reconciliations.
• Investigate unusual balances, discrepancies, and accounting issues, and propose practical solutions.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare management reports and other financial schedules required by clients and stakeholders.
• Support regulatory and compliance-related reporting, including OJK reporting where applicable.
• Review the completeness and accuracy of accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Identify gaps in accounting processes, documentation, and internal controls.
• Assist clients in improving accounting processes, reporting workflows, and controls.
• Work closely with client finance and accounting teams to resolve issues and complete project deliverables.
• Maintain clear documentation of accounting processes, findings, adjustments, and recommendations.
• Ensure accounting activities are aligned with applicable PSAK and current Indonesian accounting and regulatory requirements.
• Manage assigned deliverables and deadlines across project engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in accounting, auditing, accounting services, consulting, or corporate accounting.
• Strong experience in financial statement preparation and financial reporting.
• Solid understanding of General Ledger, account reconciliation, and Balance Sheet reconciliation.
• Hands-on experience with month-end and year-end closing.
• Good understanding of Indonesian Financial Accounting Standards (PSAK).
• Experience reviewing accounting transactions and determining appropriate accounting treatment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify discrepancies and investigate accounting issues.
• Experience in accounting process improvement, documentation, or internal controls is an advantage.
• Experience preparing OJK reports is an advantage.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel / spreadsheet tools.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under reporting deadlines.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with client teams and NUMA project stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in a client-facing, project-based environment.
• Professional accounting certification such as CA or CPA is an advantage.
