Executive Assistant to the COO, APAC Operations At Verda, we're building a full-stack AI cloud, covering everything from data centers and hardware to our own cloud platform that the world's leading AI teams use to do serious AI work. We strive to make a positive mark on the world through the infrastructure we build and give leading teams a service they can truly depend on. Headquartered in Helsinki, we operate globally with offices in London and San Francisco. Join Verda while it’s still being built - not once it’s finished. Why Verda Cash and equity compensation along with various fringe benefits (healthcare, lunch, wellbeing, and more). Profitable operations with rapid, sustained growth. 30+ nationalities, with 6 different ones on the management team. A real chance to make an impact and work alongside world class engineers, researchers, and partners across the global AI ecosystem. Practicalities Work mode: Based in South Korea (we are also open to Japan, Taiwan, or Singapore for the right person), with regular travel across APAC. Travel is a core part of this role, not an occasional extra. Employment type: Full time and permanent About the role You will be the COO's dedicated operational partner for APAC. This is a classic Executive Assistant role with a regional specialisation: you own the COO's APAC-facing calendar, meeting preparation, and stakeholder coordination end to end, working across Korean, Japanese, and Chinese-speaking markets. You are not building the function from scratch, and you are not working alone. You join an experienced EA who holds the broader remit, and the two of you operate as one support function with clear ownership, no duplication, and no gaps between regions. That partnership is central to the role. The COO works across multiple time zones, languages, and functional domains at once. Communication is direct, autonomy is high, and not every process is defined yet. Part of what you bring is structure where it does not exist. Your responsibilities Own the COO's APAC-facing calendar, meeting flow, and daily priorities end to end, so APAC scheduling, prep, and follow-up never reach the COO's desk. Prepare every APAC-focused engagement: agendas, pre-reads, briefing notes, context summaries, and follow-up tracking. Coordinate daily with the peer EA on priorities, context, and handoffs, so the COO's support function operates as one team rather than two parallel tracks. Act as the linguistically and culturally fluent interface for APAC stakeholders, partners, and vendors, working in English plus Korean, Japanese, and/or Mandarin. Document decisions, actions, and materials from COO-led APAC meetings, and drive commitments through to closure. Support ad hoc reporting and presentation work as APAC initiatives require. Travel across APAC to support the COO on site and in market. Your key competencies You are an experienced executive partner who works natively across APAC markets, makes sound calls without waiting to be asked, and treats coordination with a peer as a strength rather than a constraint. 3 to 6 years supporting senior leaders (C-suite or VP level) in fast-paced, international environments. Fluency in English plus professional working proficiency in at least one of Korean, Japanese, or Mandarin Chinese. Written and spoken, at real business standard, in daily use from day one. Proven track record managing executive calendars, meeting preparation, and multi-stakeholder coordination across time zones. Experience working inside an EA team or alongside a peer support function, with tight, trust-based coordination rather than solo operation. Genuine familiarity with business norms in Korean, Japanese, or Chinese professional contexts: hierarchy, communication style, relationship building. Ability to travel across APAC without restriction, and the right to work in your base country. Discretion. This role sits close to highly sensitive commercial, personnel, and strategic information. Nice to have Professional proficiency in two or more APAC languages. Experience at a scaling technology company, PE-backed business, or operations-heavy international organisation. Exposure to CapEx, procurement, or operational finance topics in a supporting or coordinating capacity. Familiarity with Notion, Slack, and Google Workspace, plus APAC tools such as KakaoWork, WeChat Work, or Line Works. What's next We're building fast and this role needs the right person behind it.
