Allied Public Adjusters (APA) is currently expanding and seeking motivated individuals to join our team as an Executive Desk Public Adjuster. The Executive Desk Public Adjuster is a senior professional desk claims handler who advocates for the policyholder and serves as the Executive Public Adjuster’s claims counterpart on the firm’s large-loss and high-value claims. The Executive Desk Public Adjuster works well in a rapid-paced environment, models behaviors that reflect APA’s core values, and reports to a Managing Public Adjuster as part of a pod team structure. The Executive Public Adjuster is the field expert with eyes on the property and direction of each claim. The Executive Desk Public Adjuster partners in developing that approach and owns the execution. The purpose of an Executive Desk Public Adjuster is to independently handle the day-to-day management of the shared caseload, serve as the primary point of contact with the carrier, client, and vendors by phone, email, and letter, and drive every claim forward to resolution for matters not involving field work. This is a senior claims professional role requiring a high level of independent file handling, judgment, and follow-through.

The ideal applicant must have:
  • 7+ years of property claims experience with a proven record of independently managing files to resolution
  • Experience handling large-loss, commercial, and/or complex residential claims
  • Strong knowledge of coverage, claim planning, and negotiations
  • Confident and persuasive communicator with the carrier by phone, email, and formal letter
  • Proficiency in Xactimate, including building, revising, and supplementing estimates
  • Extensive knowledge of residential and commercial building construction
  • Active State Public Adjuster License (or ability to obtain within the first 90 days)
  • Exceptional writing, organization, follow-through, and professionalism
  • Sound judgment and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision on a high volume of concurrent, high-value files
  • Understanding of insurance Industry standards, policies, applicable laws, and regulations, including the California Fair Claims Settlement Practices Regulations
  • Maintain a clean driving record and an active California Driver’s License (in the event supplemental field work becomes necessary on any given claim)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Executive Public Adjuster’s claims counterpart, independently handling the day-to-day management of the shared large-loss and high-value caseload
  • Partner with the Executive Public Adjuster in developing the claim approach, contributing coverage analysis, documentation review, and carrier history
  • Execute the established approach with the Executive Public Adjuster in the field and execute it from the desk through resolution while maintaining high documentation standards
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with the carrier, client, and vendors on shared claims, communicating by phone, email, and formal letter
  • Draft and send position letters, demand letters, proof of loss packages, and responses to carrier requests and denials
  • Negotiate with carrier adjusters within the approach and authority established with the Executive Public Adjuster, and escalate when the approach needs to change
  • Drive carrier accountability by tracking requests and responding to deadlines, pushing for timely payments, scheduling re-inspections, and escalating delays
  • Prepare, submit, and track supplements, and keep Xactimate estimates current as scope develops, coordinating with in-house estimators as needed
  • Effectively analyze policy coverage and identify coverage issues, scope gaps, and strategic opportunities, and bring recommended next steps to the Executive Public Adjuster
  • Keep the Executive Public Adjuster informed through regular claim reviews so field insight and desk execution stay aligned
  • Track critical policy and claim deadlines and act on them well in advance
  • Own file discipline on the shared inventory: file hygiene, timely activity notes, and audit-ready documentation
  • Maintain timely client communication and expectations
  • Effectively and efficiently utilize support teams such as legal, estimating, and leadership where needed to resolve claims for clients
  • Follow internal processes, documentation standards, timelines, and compliance requirements
  • Attend inspections, re-inspections, and site meetings as needed.
  • Ability to drive regularly to the office and client property inspection sites

What Success Looks Like in the First 12 Months:

  • Fully assumed day-to-day handling of the Executive Public Adjuster’s book, with no claim stalling on the desk side
  • Established as the trusted primary contact for carriers on shared claims, with professional, well-documented phone, email, and letter communication
  • Built a trusted partnership with the Executive Public Adjuster that turns field direction into consistent desk execution
  • Achieve strong claim outcomes for clients through disciplined execution and relentless advocacy
  • Delivered accurate, defensible estimates, supplements, and position letters that hold up in negotiation, appraisal, or litigation
  • Create Executive Public Adjuster capacity to take on additional large-loss claims
  • Produce audit-ready files with complete, timely documentation
  • Meet or exceed claim cycle time standards while balancing quality and urgency
  • Anticipate carrier tactics and deadlines, escalating issues before they become problems
  • Collaborate effectively with internal business partners and the pod to drive results
  • Show ownership mentality by treating every claim like it matters in a proactive manner
  • Contribute positively to the company culture and results

Salary

  • $110,000 to $150,000 base + performance bonus

  • Ability to navigate in and out of a vehicle to drive and sit for periods exceeding one hour from the starting point
  • May be exposed to all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and wind
