Is this job info correct?

The Role The Executive Director will build CSAIP from a launch-phase program into the organization the progressive movement needs to meet the AI transition. You will own strategy, operations, fundraising, and external communications. This is a builder's role at a moment when the political space is wide open and the timeline is moving fast. You'll work closely with the board, our core research partners and key stakeholders across the ecosystem to set the agenda and deliver against it. The person in this seat will shape what CSAIP becomes in 2026 and what comes after it in 2027 and 2028. Responsibilities Set CSAIP's strategic direction, 6-month, 2-year, and longer arc vision with the board and advisors. Assemble and manage the right mix of staff and partners to run a flexible, high-performing organization that scales to the moment. Lead day-to-day organizational execution: own program management and operating cadence across initial research tracks. Responsible for timelines, deliverables, quality, and goal tracking. Run a rigorous, credible process that convenes the right experts and stakeholders and turns their input into high-quality materials candidates, electeds, and other individuals can actually use. Build coalition across the progressive spectrum: recruit fellows from elected officials and opinion leaders to organizers and practitioners, brief legislators and electeds, and convene aligned stakeholders at a minimum of 2 in-person gatherings. Own the budget across the c3 and c4 tranches: allocate the initial investment, track spending against program goals, and keep the two structures clean for funders and compliance. Lead fundraising with the board: cultivate funders, develop pitches, sustain returning donors, close new c3 and c4 support, and make the case for expansion projects. Serve as an external voice and on-the-record spokesperson with funders, press, policymakers, and coalition partners. Build the governance, systems, and infrastructure to grow CSAIP from a launch program into a durable institution. Requirements A builder-operator who has run an organization or major function before and gets energy from launch-stage building. Runs lean, high-performing teams that move fast and stay humble, and ideally already uses AI as a force multiplier in their own work. Sets clear targets and is judged by what the team ships. More a process leader than a subject-matter expert: can run a rigorous, credible process to convene the right experts and stakeholders and turn their input into usable product. Has the judgment to know which ideas are worth pursuing and is fluent enough in technology and economic policy to hold their own with funders and electeds. A confident writer, speaker, and on-the-record spokesperson, credible with press and policymakers, and a disciplined messenger who can carry CSAIP's case in a contested information environment. A sophisticated consumer of public opinion research and message testing, familiar with how advocacy actually moves in today's information environment. A proven fundraiser with a track record of closing support, ideally across both c3 and c4 structures. An experienced board partner who can run the board relationship well: set the operating cadence, manage up, and keep a working board informed and bought in. A coalition builder across the progressive spectrum (left to center-left), an exceptional listener energized by pulling in ideas from across it, who arrives with (or quickly builds) relationships across funders, policymakers, labor, and progressive organizations. Compensation & Benefits This is a full-time role with a base salary of $200,000-$250,000. This is a fully remote position; you can work from anywhere in the United States, but are expected to travel as needed. CSAIP offers competitive benefits. As the organization's first full-time hire, the incoming Executive Director will have the opportunity to help design the benefits package and bring a proposal to the board. About the Center for Shared AI Prosperity AI capabilities are advancing faster than the political system can absorb them, and the progressive framework for managing the transition does not yet exist. Center for Shared AI Prosperity, CSAIP, is a research and advocacy program designed to build this framework and lay the groundwork for major efforts in 2027 and 2028. Existing AI policy work either focuses on model safety and governance or treats AI as justification for small-scale workforce programs. Neither grapples with the scale of the economic transition on its own terms, and neither closes the gap between how AI labs describe the next two years and how Washington is processing them. CSAIP is built to do three things no existing organization is positioned to do: solicit policy ideas from across the ideological spectrum; put them through a single rigorous opinion testing pipeline that produces materials candidates and electeds can actually use; and organize a coalition around shared prosperity before the crisis forces one together. We work in close partnership with Blue Rose Research on opinion research, Marc Aidinoff at Harvard on policy evaluation, and Stefanie Feldman and Morris Katz as ecosystem stakeholders, among several others. The political opening is wide. Blue Rose's national research finds AI rising in importance faster than any other issue facing voters. 71% expect large-scale AI unemployment within a decade, 64% believe America is rigged for the elite, and only 27% trust AI companies. Americans are hungry for leaders willing to say plainly that the gains from this transformation belong to everyone, and to back that claim with concrete legislation. For less than what the AI industry spends in a single hour, invested on the other side of the ledger, we can make sure the people who believe this transformation belongs to everyone are ready when the moment comes. CSAIP is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law. This is an exempt, full-time salaried position under the Fair Labor Standards Act.500
