About the Role

In this newly created role reporting to the President and Council, you will lead ESA through an exciting phase of growth and transformation. You will drive strategic priorities, strengthen governance, diversify revenue through new programs, grants and sponsorships, oversee operations, expand education and elevate national health advocacy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Governance & Compliance: Maintain fiduciary standards, meeting administration, and ACNC compliance.
  • Stakeholder & Member Engagement: Oversee scientific meetings, research grants, and member services while leading government and industry advocacy.

About You

You are an adaptable, values-driven executive leader with a strong appreciation for medical science and health policy.

  • Track record of working effectively with a Board/Council on governance and charity compliance.
  • Success in growing funding streams through corporate partnerships, grants, and fundraising.
  • Strong financial literacy managing budgets and reserve investments.
  • Outstanding communication, advocacy, and stakeholder relationship skills.
  • A hands-on, self-motivated approach that balances high-level vision with operational execution.

This Australia-wide role offers full work-from-home flexibility (ideally based in Sydney or accessible to major metros for key stakeholder meetings). The position is offered as a permanent full-time or 4-day part-time role featuring a competitive executive package and a high-impact platform to shape public health advocacy, support scientific discovery, and improve clinical outcomes across Australia.
