Job Description
General Summary:
The Executive Director, Global Commercial Strategy (GCS) Immunology - Pove will be the senior commercial leader for the non-kidney diseases and indications where povetacicept is most likely to first commercialize: generalized myasthenia gravis (gMG), Sjögren’s disease (SjD), and potentially lupus, including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and lupus nephritis (LN). The role will own the disease and commercial strategy across these Immunology indications, with kidney indications led separately within the Kidney vertical.
The Executive Director will co-lead the povetacicept Immunology Program Team with the Development Lead, guiding strategy and key development and investment decisions for the non-kidney portfolio. The role will lead near-term commercial assessments for gMG and SjD and build global commercialization and launch plans for indications that advance.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Co-lead the povetacicept Immunology Program Team with the Development Lead, setting the strategy, priorities, and decision framework for gMG, SjD, SLE, and LN.
- Own the disease and commercial strategy for gMG, SjD, and lupus, building deep understanding of the markets and requirements for success.
- Lead the commercial assessment and recommendation for the upcoming gMG decision, including the target product profile, differentiation, evidence needs, opportunity, forecast, risks, and launch implications.
- Rapidly develop the commercial recommendation and business case for whether and how to advance povetacicept into Phase 2 development in SjD.
- Shape development plans by defining commercially meaningful populations, endpoints, comparators, evidence requirements, differentiation thresholds, and lifecycle opportunities.
- Lead commercial development activities, including market research, forecasting, competitive intelligence, scenario planning, target product profiles, and investment recommendations.
- Develop the global commercialization strategy across the non-kidney Immunology indications, including sequencing, positioning, evidence generation, and resource priorities.
- Lead global launch preparation for indications that advance, including critical success factors, market development, regional alignment, readiness milestones, and cross-functional execution.
- Partner with the GCS Kidney lead and across Development, Medical, Regulatory, Value & Access, Finance, and regional Commercial teams to ensure povetacicept strategies are aligned while maintaining clear accountability by vertical.
- Communicate clear recommendations to senior leaders and governance bodies, identifying key uncertainties, trade-offs, risks, and actions required.
- Build and lead a high-performing Immunology commercial team as the portfolio advances.
Required Education Level
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, life sciences, healthcare, or a related field.
- Advanced degree such as an MBA, M.S., Pharm.D., Ph.D., or M.D. preferred.
Required Experience
- Extensive biopharmaceutical commercial experience, including global commercial strategy, new product planning, or marketing leadership.
- Demonstrated experience shaping pipeline assets and translating market insight into development strategy, evidence requirements, and investment decisions.
- Strong experience leading commercial assessments, forecasts, business cases, and scenario analyses for pre-launch assets.
- Launch experience in specialty, rare disease, neurology, rheumatology, immunology, or other complex markets; direct Immunology experience strongly preferred.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment; program-team leadership experience preferred.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical rigor, business judgment, communication, and influencing skills.
- Proven people leadership and ability to build collaborative, high-performing teams.
