Requirements The Executive Director of the Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA) provides strategic leadership, administration, and oversight for the college’s financial aid and scholarship programs. The Executive Director ensures compliance with all federal, state, and institutional regulations, while advancing the institution’s enrollment, retention, and student success goals. He/she serves as the primary internal and external liaison for OSFA, provides expert guidance on policy and compliance matters, and develops strategies that enhance student access, affordability, and overall financial well-being. The Executive Director leads a high-performing financial aid team by fostering professional growth, implementing robust training, and cultivating a culture of service excellence, integrity, and fiscal responsibility. Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation The Executive Director of Financial Aid operates in a highly networked role with constantly collaborating, advising, and representing the institution across multiple internal and external touchpoints. The Executive Director works closely with the following stakeholders to align financial aid strategy with institutional priorities, ensure compliance, and enhance student success: Internal Stakeholders Senior University Leadership: President, Provost, CFO, and other cabinet members. Enrollment Management: Admissions, Registrar, Institutional Research. Finance & Administration: Student Accounts, Controller’s Office. Student Affairs: VP of Student Affairs Development & Alumni Relations: Advancement, Scholarships Office. Academic Deans & Program Directors: Dean of Undergraduate Admissions, Deans of the College of Arts & Sciences, Business, Continuing Studies Graduate School, etc. IT & Systems Support: UIS, Enterprise Systems, BannerSaaS Support External Stakeholders Federal & State Agencies: U.S. Department of Education, state higher education agencies. Professional Associations: NASFAA, regional/state financial aid associations. Community Partners & High Schools: Outreach to prospective students and families. Lenders & Scholarship Foundations: Private loan providers and scholarship organizations. Auditors & Compliance Review Teams: Federal/state program reviewers and independent auditors. This position has been designated as Hybrid. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University. Requirements and Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in a related field. 12+ years of relevant experience required Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in financial aid administration. Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations, compliance requirements, and reporting standards. Minimum 10 years experience leading and managing a team in a leadership role. Demonstrated success in strategic planning, policy development, and staff leadership. Strong analytical, budgetary, and problem-solving skills. Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills. Preferred Master’s degree in higher education administration, business, or related field. Experience with financial aid leveraging strategies and enrollment management initiatives. Proficiency with financial aid management systems (e.g., Banner, Microsoft Suite, Workday) and related software applications. Active participation in professional financial aid organizations. Pay Range: The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $135,188.00 - $264,291.85 Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
