Executive Organizational Development Facilitator
Position Summary
Comfort Systems USA is seeking a Field Leadership Trainer to deliver high-impact leadership development programs for the people who build, wire, and operate our work. This role is designed for a field-credible trainer who understands construction culture and has the ability to connect with foremen, team leads, supervisors, field managers, and operations leaders across the organization.
Our frontline leaders have the greatest influence on safety, productivity, quality, and employee engagement. As a Field Leadership Trainer, you will bring proven leadership programs to life, helping field employees develop the skills, confidence, and mindset to lead teams safely and effectively.
The curriculum is built. Your responsibility is to deliver it with excellence where the work happens, reinforcing that Comfort Systems USA invests in its people and provides clear pathways for career growth and leadership advancement.
What We're Looking For
The difference-maker in this role is credibility. You understand how field crews think because you've worked alongside them. Whether your background is in commercial construction, industrial construction, mechanical contracting, electrical construction, manufacturing, or the skilled trades, you know what earns respect on a jobsite.
Success isn't measured by whether training was delivered. It's measured by whether people leave inspired, retain the message, and apply it every day in the field. You'll help scale leadership development across one of the nation's largest mechanical contracting organizations while building the next generation of field leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate established leadership development programs for foremen, supervisors, team leads, field managers, and operations leaders.
- Deliver engaging training centered on leadership, jobsite safety, productivity, quality, communication, and employee development.
- Translate leadership concepts into practical, jobsite-focused conversations that resonate with frontline construction professionals.
- Inspire field employees to see themselves as future leaders while reinforcing Comfort Systems USA's commitment to career growth.
- Represent and model Comfort Systems USA's Core Values with authenticity, humility, and integrity.
- Apply Dale Carnegie or similar leadership development methodologies where appropriate.
- Partner with Learning & Development leaders and subject matter experts to continuously improve learner engagement and program effectiveness.
- Read the room, adapt facilitation techniques, and guide meaningful discussions that encourage participation and accountability.
- Travel to operating companies nationwide to facilitate multi-day leadership training sessions.
- Expand the reach and impact of leadership programs as you grow into independent facilitation responsibilities.
What Success Looks Like
- Builds trust and credibility with field employees and frontline leaders.
- Delivers engaging training that participants remember and apply on the job.
- Strengthens leadership behaviors that improve workplace safety, productivity, quality, and team performance.
- Reinforces Comfort Systems USA's culture and values through every training experience.
- Employees leave believing they have a clear leadership pathway within the organization.
- Maintains consistent facilitation quality across multiple operating companies and leadership cohorts.
- Creates meaningful conversations around leadership, accountability, safety, and operational excellence.
Who
- You are experienced in construction, mechanical contracting, electrical construction, manufacturing, industrial services, or another skilled trades environment, and it shows in how you lead.
- Comfortable engaging with diverse field audiences, from apprentices to experienced operations leaders.
- A servant leader who prioritizes team success over personal recognition.
- Humble, authentic, composed, and confident.
- Naturally curious and skilled at building trust through genuine conversations.
- Comfortable facilitating leadership development without needing to be the technical expert in every subject.
- Someone who earns credibility through actions, consistency, and character.
A Day in the Life
- Facilitate leadership development sessions for frontline supervisors, foremen, team leads, and operations managers.
- Travel to Comfort Systems USA operating companies for multi-day training engagements.
- Collaborate with Learning & Development leaders and subject matter experts to prepare training experiences.
- Coach field leaders through discussion, reflection, and practical application.
- Gather feedback and continuously improve training delivery.
- Observe field operations and provide insights that strengthen future leadership programming.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Experience working in construction, mechanical contracting, electrical construction, industrial construction, manufacturing, or another skilled trades environment.
- Demonstrated success facilitating training, coaching, or leadership development for frontline or field-based employees.
- Proven ability to connect with craft professionals, field supervisors, and operations leaders.
- Experience supporting workforce development within large, geographically distributed organizations.
- Familiarity with Dale Carnegie or comparable leadership development methodologies is preferred.
- Strong presentation, facilitation, communication, and organizational skills.
