Aon is in the business of better decisions

At Aon, we build decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world.

As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.

What the day will look like

Aon’s Life, Health & Benefits Strategy Consulting team, part of Aon Advisory, is hiring an Experienced Strategy Associate. We work with many of the most prestigious companies across the global life, health and benefits, property & casualty, insurtech, and (re)insurance markets. Leveraging Aon’s proprietary data and global network of experts, we help clients navigate a fast‑changing environment and turn insights into practical strategies and tangible business results.

As an Experienced Associate, you will work in a client-facing role alongside Client Leaders, Project Managers, and Aon leadership. You will support and lead project workstreams that deliver business-focused initiatives and strategic recommendations. This will include understanding client objectives, evaluating business challenges, conducting business and market analysis, assessing risk, and defining strategies that build growth opportunities and competitive advantages.

As a Strategy Associate, you will be a key member of high‑impact project teams, helping clients address their most important strategic questions. You will:

    • Support end‑to‑end client engagements, from defining strategic questions to delivering and implementing recommendations
    • Perform quantitative and financial analyses to evaluate markets, products, segments, and growth opportunities
    • Conduct market and competitor research across life, health & benefits, and insurtech to inform client strategies
    • Use Aon’s proprietary data and market intelligence to uncover trends and derive insights into sources of competitive advantage
    • Translate complex analyses into clear, compelling client materials (PowerPoint, Excel, written reports, white papers)
    • Participate in client interviews, workshops, and discovery sessions with Aon subject matter experts
    • Help synthesize findings, identify key insights, and shape storylines and strategic recommendations
    • Contribute to proposals, marketing materials, and thought leadership to support business development
    • Support internal initiatives for Aon Advisory, including recruiting, marketing, communications, and practice operations

You bring knowledge and expertise

Characteristics of an ideal candidate:

  • Strong analytical abilities and comfort with data analysis and financial modeling, with a track record of academic and/or professional achievement
  • Excellent communication skills – you can turn complex analyses into simple, compelling stories in both written and verbal formats
  • Curiosity about how insurance, health and benefits, and insurtech are evolving – and a desire to help clients navigate that change
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams, prioritize effectively, and deliver high‑quality work under tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with colleagues and clients at all levels
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% for client and internal meetings, depending on project needs
  • Experience with analytics tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, or similar data analytics platforms preferred
  • Prior exposure to life, health & benefits, (re)insurance, or insurtech markets preferred

Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Risk Management, Insurance, Finance, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Economics, or a closely related field, or a comparable mix of education and pertinent industry experience.

For positions in San Francisco and Los Angeles, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction record in accordance with local Fair Chance ordinances.
