Title: Driver Recruiter

Location: Chesterton, Indiana

Hybrid: Monday-Thursday onsite and Friday Remote

Reports to: Driver Recruitment Manager

What We're Looking For

  • At least 3 years of Class A CDL driver recruiting experience.
  • Experience using Tenstreet or Driver Recruitment Tools to manage leads, applications, and recruiting pipelines.
  • Strong knowledge of the transportation industry, driver qualifications, and DOT/FMCSA requirements.
  • A proactive, results-driven mindset with a proven ability to recruit CDL-A drivers in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, a strong phone presence, and the ability to build genuine relationships.
  • Strong follow-up, organization, and time management skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively.
  • Someone who is eager to learn the business and build strong partnerships with Operations, Safety, Compliance, and HR.
  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in place of formal education

Driver Recruiter Role Summary

We are looking for a high-energy, results-driven Driver Recruiter who knows how to find, engage, and hire great CDL-A drivers. This role will primarily focus on recruiting drivers throughout the Midwest while supporting West Coast hiring, including Alaska and Hawaii, as needed.

You'll own the recruiting process from lead generation through onboarding, with a focus on candidate engagement, pipeline growth, and hiring results. You'll work closely with Operations, Safety, Compliance, and HR to understand our needs and find the right drivers for our business.

The ideal candidate is proactive, competitive, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. They know how to build relationships, follow up consistently, and turn qualified leads into successful hires.

Recruiting and Hiring

• Source, screen, interview, and onboard Class A CDL drivers to meet business needs.

• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified drivers across multiple terminals, lanes, equipment types, and geographic markets.

• Develop new ways to find qualified drivers, reconnect with previous applicants, and support driver referral programs.

• Manage recruiting activity in Tenstreet, including leads, applications, candidate communication, and pipeline tracking

Building Relationships and Partnering with the Business

• Partner with Operations, Safety, Compliance, and HR to understand hiring needs and identify the right candidates.

• Learn our business, operations, routes, and equipment to better understand the drivers we need.

• Build relationships with drivers and keep candidates engaged throughout the hiring process.

• Provide clear, consistent communication and follow up with candidates to keep the process moving.

Qualifications and Compliance

• Screen candidates for CDL qualifications, endorsements, employment history, safety records, and basic DOT eligibility.

• Partner with Safety and Compliance to ensure candidates meet company and regulatory requirements.

• Guide candidates through applications, documentation, and onboarding.

Recruiting Results

• Monitor recruiting activity, pipeline health, and hiring progress.

• Balance speed and efficiency with candidate experience and quality of hire.

• Stay organized and manage multiple openings and competing priorities.

  • We recruit drivers for a variety of opportunities across the Midwest and other markets, including the West Coast, Alaska, and Hawaii. Our hiring needs include:
  • Driver Types: Class A and B CDL, non-CDL, local, regional, OTR, dedicated, and owner-operators.
  • Freight and Equipment: Dry van, steel and flatbed, intermodal, containers, LTL, household goods, and specialized equipment.
  • Our hiring needs vary by location and business needs. We look for the right drivers for each opportunity, with a focus on quality, safety, and long-term succes
