We are seeking talented and motivated candidates with a spectrum of skills for multiple positions ranging from software design and testing to research and development in network protocols, drivers, and data network management software. We have remote opportunities, and we have hybrid positions in Washington, DC, Charleston, SC, and San Diego, CA. Responsibilities As an experienced Engineer or Developer at LabN Consulting, LLC, you will be responsible for: Designing, developing, testing, and deploying software for network control in cloud and specialized operating environments Working alongside a team of developers and vendors to ensure software is fully integrated and operating as expected Collaborating with colleagues to identify requirements and develop solutions Conducting research and development in the areas of network protocols, drivers, and data network management software Troubleshooting software issues and implementing fixes Developing and maintaining technical documentation Ensuring software quality by conducting code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing Participating in project planning, including providing input on schedules and resource allocation Qualifications We are looking for engineers with at least 3 years' experience in data network development and/or testing. A range of relevant qualifications, experience, and skills are listed below. We expect candidates to have some of these skills, but no candidate is expected to have them all! Minimum requirement of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field Data network protocol, driver, or data network management software development experience Solid foundation in industry/standard network technologies, routers, switches, spanning tree routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, PIM) and YANG Experience with Routers/Ethernet/VLAN configuration and related network development and/or debugging Linux system or networking administration (e.g., firewall configuration) Open-source networking-related software (e.g., FRRouting, libyang) NFV in VMs and/or container configuration and operation Network Simulation, such as CORE and/or EMANE Proficiency with C, C++, python and/or other scripting languages in a Linux environment Project collaboration experience such as Confluence, Jira, and/or git Experience with automating tasks with shell scripts (e.g., Python, shell, ansible, Jenkins) Good verbal and written communications skills Must be a U.S. Citizen Benefits At LabN Consulting, we offer competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, dental insurance, vision care, life insurance, paid time off, retirement benefits, and additional incentives.
