Responsibilities

• Design and develop secure and reusable cloud automation solutions within large-scale Microsoft Azure environments;
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code modules, templates and workflows using Terraform;
• Develop backend services and REST APIs, primarily using Java/Spring;
• Contribute to frontend applications using JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks such as React, Angular or Vue;
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines, using GitHub Actions or equivalent tooling;
• Integrate Azure services with platforms such as GitHub, ServiceNow and identity services through APIs;
• Implement cloud security, identity, governance and policy controls as part of the delivery lifecycle;
• Develop automated functional, regression and deployment tests;
• Automate recurring operational tasks using scripting technologies such as PowerShell;
• Implement monitoring, logging and alerting to ensure production readiness and reliability;
• Support the continuous improvement of cloud platform services used by application teams across an international organisation;
• Collaborate with distributed engineering and cloud teams across different locations.

The role combines software engineering, cloud engineering and platform engineering, with a strong focus on Azure automation and self-service capabilities.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience, ideally within international enterprise environments;
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and public-cloud architecture;
• Advanced experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code;
• Strong software development background with Java/Spring;
• Strong experience designing and integrating REST APIs;
• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one modern frontend framework such as React, Angular or Vue;
• Strong experience with CI/CD and DevOps workflows, preferably GitHub Actions;
• Experience with cloud security, identity, access management and governance;
• Strong knowledge of automated testing and quality engineering;
• Experience integrating cloud platforms, APIs and enterprise services;
• Experience with scripting and operational automation, preferably PowerShell;
• Strong understanding of monitoring, logging, alerting and production operations;
• Working knowledge of containers and Kubernetes/AKS;
• Fluent English;
• Availability to work in a hybrid model in Alfragide, 2 days per week, with Thursday as a mandatory office day.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with large-scale enterprise cloud platforms;
• Previous experience in platform engineering or self-service cloud environments;
• Experience integrating with ServiceNow through APIs;
• Experience supporting highly distributed or global engineering teams;
• Knowledge of Azure Data Factory and Databricks;
• Experience working in environments with strong security, governance and compliance requirements.
